This is the episode more than any other that completely and permanently destroyed any faith I may have had in the celestial hierarchy as an institution. All the big bosses conspired to murder Leo, and all just to motivate the Charmed Ones. Could they not think of a better plan than straight up murdering somebody? And the Angel of Destiny has the nerve to be angry that they summoned her? She should be grovelling for their forgiveness; they all should. They like to put themselves on a pedestal claiming some sort of divine righteousness and yet they pull this? (I wonder how Headmaster Charleston would have behaved in her place.) Proof positive that they're not divine at all, no matter how much the Angel of Destiny implied this was God's plan: they're just a bunch of jumped up Good Place style bureaucrats with God complexes. Reminds me of when Dean said 'tell God I'm coming for him next' in Swan Song. I'm delighted that you guessed the ending as soon as the camera lingered on the cryo-pods in mid-episode. Also, my 'breath freezes in anticipation' comment wasn't consciously a pun on the cryogenic plot. A 'happy' coincidence.

2024-12-19 10:15:56 +0000 UTCI remember when I originally watched this episode, I felt the same way you did, I didn't want anything to happen to Leo, but with this being the final season, anything can happen. This is easily one of my favorite episodes in the entire series.

I've never thought of it in those terms before but it really did feel like an episode from earlier seasons again.
