My biggest issue with this episode is that Chris has his season 6 hair and not the 5x22 hair he had when he first showed up (I had a crush on the 5x22 look). Also, I don't think I've see anybody mention this which I find odd but Bianca is none other than Mrs. Hermione Lodge from Riverdale :P Also a stripped unpowered Chris, unable to freeze. Weird.

There was a clue earlier in the season when Chris said he doesn't heal and pointed out that Paige didn't either. I don't think that half white lighters can't heal, it's just that it's harder for them. And the way he killed the Valkyrie, that wasn't a whitelighter power, that was a witch's power.

But he's thinking this could be how Wyatt becomes evil. He befriends demons and they convince him to be evil. He wants to eliminate the 'threat' immediately.

Plus, if you believe the fan theory that Elise and Aunt Jackie from episode 1x7 (Ava's aunt, also played by Rebecca Balding) are the same person, then her relationship with her own sister, a rehab-requiring addict with a once-troubled daughter, may have soured her faith in sisterly relationships such as Phoebe's.

Maybe a bit of a strange choice but I think they just realized it's unfair that they have to put their lives on hold all the time and it is exactly those unexpressed desires that demons use against them. And they have three people who can orb around them constantly so no matter how far apart they are they are technically still close. It's definetely not a choice I would make in their situation but I can see why they went with it.

On the one hand, it's nice to see them and Leo showing concern for Chris considering he's been a bit of a nuisance for them up until now. Piper even calls him "young man". But the decision to go their separate ways... after a demon specifically tried to separate them using their desires... feels a bit off to me? I get the justification, but especially knowing someone is after my nephew, I would want to stay close, man or no man. But, their powers do act on their emotions, and suppressing them and forcing closeness could hurt the bond.

2024-02-01 05:37:39 +0000 UTCI get why it's easy to mistrust Chris's actions, but when I think of his journey, I can't help but think about when Prue, Piper, and Phoebe went into the past and ended up kidnapping their younger selves. (That episode was actually indirectly mentioned in this one because they kidnapped their younger selves because they didn't have their own powers in the past, which is why Chris needed a special spell to keep his powers when time traveling.) So, they, too, have done questionable things from the outside, but we understood them more because we were looking at things from their POV. This is the first time we get Chris's POV.

Given that he went back in time to a baby Wyatt, we can assume that Wyatt went dark or on the slippery slope to dark pretty early, so Chris has grown up in a world with a super-powerful, evil Wyatt. Living in a dystopian society and trying to be good in spite of that can result in some grey morals -- a practical, do-what-needs-to-be-done mentality -- but his heart is overall in the right place. As you said, with the demon kid, it makes a ton of sense he would be worried about an "evil" influence around Wyatt, but it is ironic that his answer there was to vanquish him. When faced with the same choice FOR Wyatt -- kill him or save him -- he's putting a lot of effort into saving him.
