One of the best episodes. Elena and Elijah playing their games is just always incredibly entertaining. Also, it's interesting though sometimes very frustrating how any morals are starting to fly out of the window even with our young human characters. Anything goes as long as it's (perceived to be, at least) in the defense of a loved one.

Easily one of the best episodes of S2. So much happened it doesn't bore us even for a bit, elena stabbing herself always amazes me it's not something easy to do no matter you know you will come back after a while. Seeing Lexi each time in TVD fills my heart with so much joy, I love the way damon tells her to help stefan he truly loves his brother a lot. The dinner party scenes are a delight to watch and Damon's one liners are super funny. No need to keep John in the endangered species list always cracks me up hahhaha

Okay....hear me out. 😁 I adore Bonnie; she is one of my favorite characters in this series. However, what she did to Luka -- regardless of the motivation -- was dead wrong. It was manipulative, deceitful, and potentially life-threatening. Even if Bonnie didn't know what the full consequences could be, the manipulation and deceit was there from the get-go. Luka's father Mr. Martin (I can never remember his first name) was completely justified as an experienced, senior witch to go to this fledgling witch and remove her powers in punishment for using her powers against another witch. I think the world of Bonnie, but much like how we knew things Willow did was wrong (making Tara forget, endangering Dawn and others) and still loved Willow herself, I do condemn what Bonnie did to Luka. Granted, Luka's lying to her about the moonstone was also wrong in its way, but what she did, roofie-ing his coffee and invading his mind, was far worse. Bonnie's motivation was, of course, the running theme: protect Elena. I love this series, but the whole "protect Elena at all costs" dynamic is already growing stale. Fortunately, the excellent characters and subplots redeem the main theme, as well as continuing to heighten our curiousity and apprehension about the mysterious, frightening Klaus! Despise John (love the actor) still. His plan to get Damon killed almost worked. I think Alaric should tell Jenna the truth; at this point in the series, I think for her own safety she SHOULD know what's going on, and keeping her in ignorance is reckless and a little cruel. I adore the friendship between Damon and Alaric! It's one of the best relationships so far to come out of this series, even if it's still a little rocky at times while they each figure out how a friendship can work between them.
