Welcome to S7, largely regarded as the worst season of SPN. Though it has some really good episodes. iBecky is not really representative of the fandom, only a tiny part. Most of the fans treat the cast & crew with respect. Jensen said the 'tturducken' was the worst thing he ate on the show. It was made of lentils.

The episode does a great job of lulling us into a false sense of security with the camaraderie of the hunting trip, the meal together at Biggerson's, and the 'stoned Dean' and 'Rise of Dick' humour, before shooting us in the head at the last moment (I was going to say 'punching us in the throat' but this seemed a more appropriate turn of phrase). Not only does this episode have a literal Chekhov's Gun but also foreshadowing with Dick's line to Bobby about how the guns are 'known for their peerless sighting'. No graduate he of the Imperial Stormtrooper Markmanship Academy. Enjoy hanging on the cliff until 7x10...
