Such an amazing season opener 😍 I love Damon he is my fav but no excusing to what he did even if he seen/ didn't see the ring he cannot act on emotions and impulsively always, yes I feel bad for him to get rejected twice and hear those words must have been so heartbreaking for him, Katherine is a bitch but gotta say she is badass 😅 Nina the actor who plays the double role does such an amazing job in playing both these characters she's too good

To snap Jeremy's neck the way he did because he was hurt… wtf… I know Damon will have a lot of people defend him but nah tired of this man pain defense foolery. You do not kill someone brother because the woman you projected your Katherine feeling in does not want you. Underratetly the Damon and Bonnie scenes have been highlight bangers. Stefan and Katherine’s chemistry is insane which has always been fascinating to me because Nina Dobrev is portraying Elena I never felt the chemistry be as passionate and intense as it is when Nina is portraying Katherine when it pertains to Stefan. Also, I loved that this episode perfectly established that Stefan can tell Katherine apart from Elena whereas Damon still can’t which to me proves what he said about his love for Elena being different from what he felt for Katherine. He truly knows the difference in what he feels whereas Damon at this time sort of doesn’t. Again MY THOUGHTS… I am not going into the future of The Vampire Diaries. I am talking about everything that had happened up until this point as well as how I felt when I watched this episode for the first time.

2023-10-10 01:10:35 +0000 UTCAt this point in the series, while Bonnie and Alaric are strong contenders for the top spot in my heart, it has to go to Damon right now, despite what he did at the end. With new episodes and new seasons, things may shift as to how I feel about all of the characters, but that is where I stand currently. Damon may seem an odd choice because he's such a deadly, awful person, but I feel that he best represents the conflict of humanity within the predator. Katherine is all predator in this episode and the one before it (Season 1 finale). Stefan has put humanity far and above the predator. It's Damon who is wrestling with the conflict of the two. My most disliked are two characters neck-and-neck for the top spot (play on words intentional), Katherine and John. It was Tyler for the majority of Season 1 because of his S.A. on Vicki, but now he has competition as the show has made him more vulnerable by this point, though still volatile. I know Elena is supposed to be the ultra-main female lead, but she annoys me, LOL. It was that point where she refused to stay in the car, despite the very reasonable and patient explanation as to WHY she would endanger everyone if she went into the house to rescue Stefan. It's like she *has* to be a part of everything and forces her way in, or at least that's how it felt. Part of that, admittedly, may be my involuntary reluctance to care as much about the primary character a show is centered around and preferring the ones on the side; I swear it's not deliberate! I did it with Buffy, too! As much as I liked Buffy as a character (and Sarah Michelle Gellar as a stellar actor), there were other characters I liked a lot more. 😆 I get pulled in many different directions with all the different series that I watch, and I've never gotten past Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries. Not because I didn't like it, but simply because there were so many other shows that I was watching. I look forward to watching the remaining seasons for the first time with you!
