Personally I gain a lot of extra respect for Starlight because of her arc here. It takes courage and conviction to take the high road when everyone around you is insisting the best road is the low one. It makes the show feel more well rounded that not every character subscribes to its most signature worldview. And I don't personally count what she did as murder. Given the reaction time and the circumstances I think manslaughter is significantly more accurate.

2023-08-13 07:16:54 +0000 UTCAnd thus begins my hate for Starlight. She doesn't seem to want to understand why or what Soldier Boy is (re PTSD). "You're teaming up with a murderer!" Uh....she's been working with the worst of the worst for three years, AND SHE MURDERED TOO! Yet now all her focus is on destroying SB. Kimiko and Frenchie are so wholesome and adorable. But I fear for them by the end of the series. Christian Keyes as A-Train's brother does such a great job in making me forget his character on 'SPN'. And there will be a warning at the beginning of next episode. It's kinda funny, and I suggest you read it. It's a bit of shock to the eyes, even for this show. Thankfully, it's only about 1/3 of the episode. ETA: Jensen played a fairly psychotic super human in one episode of 'Dark Angel' named Ben. So I think SB's name being Ben is an Easter egg to that. He was so good in that one episode, they brought him back for S2 as his twin brother, Alec (for Smart Alec) and he's more like early Dean Winchester.

2023-08-11 23:51:45 +0000 UTCHey Liam, love your reactions to the Boys. When you finish this season you should check out the cast press interviews especially with Kripke included. Just so you are in the know, the Robert Singer easter eggs are an intentional nod, of course, but Jensen got a number of pointed messages from the powers that be, reminding him to NOT SHOW US DEAN WINCHESTER. He had to really prove himself to win this part and he is proud of it. I wince each time you bring up Dean, imagining Kripke's horrified face, lol and honestly, Jensen did a damn fine job of leaving DW behind and fully committing to Soldier Boy. He's gotten some impressive acting nominations to prove it.
