What you said about 'turn good, you'll live longer' and it not applying to Prue: well, some people have the theory that Prue lost her in-universe plot armour because she snapped and attacked all those reporters in 3x22, possibly killing some. (I personally think it was excusable in order to get Piper to the hospital, and that in-universe her death is a result of the magic exposure and Source deal, rather than any kind of cosmic moral judgment.)
