2023-02-02 15:21:50 +0000 UTCPersonally I think that the reason John lasted so much longer than Dean and didn't break is that John had a happier, more normal childhood to draw strength from, because he didn't know about the supernatural. Dean on the other hand has been constantly on duty fighting his dad's war since he was four years old. He couldn't take any more pain, because he's known so relatively little pleasure.

2023-02-02 11:27:43 +0000 UTCOof, this episode... the Sam and demon blood revelation and then those heart breaking moments with Dean, Dean being beaten up, Cas being beaten and impaled by Alastair and then finding out Uriel killed the angels... I cry at this episode every time at the end and on the revelation moment. Jensen's acting is just mwah! The Sam/Ruby kiss... does that mean they've been making out all season when Dean's not been around? Maybe lol. I bet Jared was like... um I like this girl, I have to kiss her on screen now... I'm not sure when they started dating, but I'm guessing it was mid to late season 4. (they got married in 2010 and season 4 was filmed 2008/09).
