What was the character thinking? (Bard edition) Gabrielle’s inner monologue on Xena leaving her behind, yet again, to go on another one of her crazy suicidal missions. “When is Xena gonna get it?! She can’t just leave me on the side of the road. We walk the same paths. Where she goes, I go. We have been together for years. I’m a part of her. I have always been a part of her. I’d follow her to the otherside of the Universe and back again. I’d follow her anywhere. Even if it’s to the grave. I’ve already died with her once, and if it’s to happen again, so be it! It may be her decision to go do something life-threatening, but she doesn’t get to decide whether I come with her or not. By the gods why can’t the woman just stay still for one second?! She thinks she can just go on without me, leaving me nothing but this pitiful explanation. I don’t fucking think so, Warrior Princess! I love her. She’s my whole life, and I’ll be damned before I let her do anything dangerous alone. I understand that she will spend this entire lifetime and the next paying for her past, but she doesn’t have to do it alone. Not as long I exist will I allow it! Gods help me, I can’t help thinking that one day she will succeed and leave me behind for good. Better get up and get the horse ready. It’s going to be a long journey!”

On top of the psychic and PK abilities Lao Ma teaches Xena; Xena could be master of the elements. I guess she never kept any of the abilities though when she turned good because she felt she never deserved that kind of power. That’s also another striking difference between Xena as evil and Xena as good. As good, prefers to graft and earn. As evil, prefers to take and possess. The dichotomy is quite large in comparison. She isn’t that person anymore even though she’ll always be informed and influenced by it. This is what it means to be corrupted. You become someone else entirely to what you once were even though you’re the still the exact same entity as it.

2023-11-28 15:45:51 +0000 UTCEverybody loves Gabrielle - Gabrielle only loves Xena There was not a hesitation in Gabrielle’s face in expressing how deep her love and affection for Xena goes when talking to Brunhilda in this scene. But all Brunhilda could see was those gorgeous green eyes and that sweet smile, which would make anyone go weak at the knees, man or woman. I don’t blame her though. Gabrielle is a one in a million catch. Honestly, regardless of the words she said, I’d still fall for the woman right here too. Because Brunhilda is falling in love with Gabrielle, she starting to think she might have a chance with her. But Gabrielle does not show signs of committing any infidelity whatsoever. Gabrielle’s faithfulness and loyalty to Xena never wavered even once, no matter who stepped into her life trying to woo and wonder her. As far as Gabrielle was concerned, no one could ever be better for her than Xena. Brunhilda tried her luck… Gabrielle set her straight!
