I would take the how could Santa be real bit like Jesus. He may have existed. Some don’t believe in him. But the legend is there 😅 Thank you for not just the love but the insightful comment ❤️

Great reaction as always! I love your authentic energy and insights. I was so excited to see you post this cause god I loved this movie. Not quite sure if you were able to hear it or not (44:05) but one line I always held onto was the second time they said the "seeing is believing" phrase, except this time the quote is "But sometimes seeing is believing, and sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we cannot see." That and the "when christmas comes to town" song stuck with me. The latter because hoo boy I empathized so hard with both Billy and the girl growing up. I related to her optimistic nature with wonderment about the holiday, but I also related to Billy's "Christmas just... doesn't work out for me." That song felt like two parts of myself in a duet, conflicted between my hopes and my reality." I did get the holiday decorations and presents unlike Billy, but even with all the hope and joy around the holiday and Santa, I'd never had a happy christmas, to say the least. So the final lyric: "And all the dreams of children" "once lost can now be found" "that's all I want when Christmas comes to town" HIT HARD and still makes me tear up. I was very late to stop hearing the bell. I'd found logical gaps but still deep down believed. One day when I was 12 my teacher dismissed us with "Happy Holidays! Oh, and by the way, if you still believe in Santa, your parents have been lying to you!" I think I told them and they said he was lying, and I believed for maybe another year, maybe on and off. It's funny, movies like these are part of why I questioned Santa's existence. The parents couldn't hear the bell at the end, meaning they didn't believe in Santa, meaning they were lying to their kids earlier, meaning they're the ones who put out the presents... so how could Santa be real if the parents don't believe? :P But still, I appreciate a lot of the messages I internalized from this movie. It was great to hear your take <3

Use to watch this all the time as a kid and during High School they showed it to us lmao 😂 the little girl was always my favorite so adorable. The nerd kid, saw the actor in the news a month or so ago I hope he's doing better now and gotten the help he needs.
