Went to the Salt Shed with Loser Mac and our respective partners to see Japanese Breakfast. Doors opened at 7, and the game started at 7:10. I did a pretty damn good job not getting on my phone until after the opener’s set finished (Ginger Root, for the curious). And what I saw surprised and pleased me in equal measure.
9-0 Cubs.
In the bottom of the 5th.
Marone.
Michael Busch hit his first career grand slam. Ben Brown had a great bounce back game after his disastrous start against the Phillies last week. Oh, and PCA hit two more homers. He is playing outstanding in the outfield, to boot.
As I stated before, I hate the Brewers, so nice to kick their ass in their home stadium. I’ve watched too many games to think that the Cubs are now guaranteed a sweep or even a series win. To paraphrase Japanese Breakfast: “Be sweet to me, Cubbies / I wanna believe in you / I wanna believe in something” BEAT THE BREW CREW!
