2025-10-15 05:20:35 +0000 UTCWhat an insane request, lol. Unironically it’s not even that bad of a show, there are a few interesting concepts within and I do like quite a few of the characters. But also, I did watch it MANY years ago in highschool so… I can’t imagine it actually stands the test of time if I were to ever rewatch it, lol. I do remember it being a decently fun watch and really liking the original art style, but that Hero is a generational falloff. Apparently the studio that took over for that season was obsessed with being perfectly accurate to the novels because the first studio just went anime original for the ending of season 3, but that also meant a VERY different art style for the show. Which is a massive downgrade in my eyes. If you’re going to have a horny show that’s not subtle about being mostly fanservice then the art and character designs should be pretty great, right? DxD Hero basically soften, simplifies, and kinda rounds every design. It just feels so much less detailed. I think I gave it maybe 2 or 3 episodes before losing interest entirely. Again, absolutely not a particularly impressive show for the narrative, but it does still kinda exist as one of the few ecchi shows to really try doing serious plots and action. It was innovative, if nothing else.
