Taylor Swift You're On Your Own, Kid Official Lyric Video REACTION!!!

Hey guys, let us help. Track 5s in any Taylor album is her most vulnerable track & always autobiographical. This one starts with Taylor as a 13 year old in Pennsylvania feeling like an outsider & finding out the boy she likes didn't like her. The second verse when she says "something different bloomed, writing in my room" is about her starting to write songs & convincing her family to go to Nashville. When she"calls a taxi to take me there" I think she's talking about being a little older going to an industry party where she realized her "dreams aren't rare" as far as becoming a famous musician. The bridge at the end is so sad & so uplifting at the same time. She's talking about all she's had to deal with during her career (including an eating disorder "I hosted parties and starved my body"). "The jokes weren't funny" is about the media & other celebrities always taking shots at her. The end of the bridge is almost Taylor talking to her younger self but also talking to the Swifties in a really beautiful motivational way. "So make the friendship bracelets" is specifically about the fans, as Taylor would exchange bracelets with fans since the beginning & now everyone still does it at her concerts with each other! I love that even though you guys weren't sure what it was about, you really loved her incredible lyricism. It might help to remember that yes, she writes about love a lot, but not every song is about romantic love-it might make the meaning pop out at you more! Thanks for the reaction!
