Hello Patrons!
Now I know I said I was going to pause on RazeXR and concentrate on Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, however there were a couple of things I wanted to wrap up prior to pressing the pause button. The first is rebasing the code onto the very latest Raze source (it was a couple of version behind) so that future changes in the Raze codebase could be incorporated easily.
This actually took more work than expected, but is now in place. This will be a big help in the future when we return to this port as one day there should be support for true modeled weapons in the Raze codebase, which would be a huge improvement for this port too.
The other thing was a better HUD. I was able to bring some of the functionality from QuestZDoom over to RazeXR so now the HUD is configurable through the VR Options menu. It is a vast improvement over the invisible HUD from the previous release and feels in a better state to be able to leave it be for a while.
Additionally, the weapons are now easier to see, have a little bit of stereo depth to them (so less eye strain). Whilst they are still 2D sprites with face-aim, they should be a bit more comfortably in your field-of-view than before,
Furthermore, one of the Raze developers reached out to us on our discord and has already been very helpful.
Anyway, will keep this one short as it is a very minor update for a port that wasn't even originally planned anyway, but hopefully everyone that is enjoying RazeXR at the moment will be happy to see these improvements.
Thank you to all our patrons once again.. I am now off to look at the JKQuest...
