Honestly lol. He misses a lot of the jokes cause he's taking every situation so seriosusly. He's waiting and focused on the outcome of every situation and can't even perceive the jokes. Like, he hears them but it doesn't register as a joke in his mind. It's just conversation because his focus is on who will come out on top. Thing is, there wouldn't even be a show if every situation happened properly with no misunderstanding.

It's about the interplay between the characters and how they play off of each other more than the actions they take. Cause let's be real they're all questionable people. Even kitty.
