Laurie didn’t suffer any real consequences. She is awful to everyone, flunked out of college and lied about it and doesn’t respect Kitty. You’re right it isn’t fair to Hyde who got a job to help the family out while she just does what she wants and expects her parents to take care of her. They shouldn’t have let her move back in without some rules.
