He gave to necklace back to her because that's the necklace Stefan gave her....it reminds her of Stefan. Everything he does in this episode is for Elena or Stefan.

In the naked scene Damon was supposed to come in with towel..like Ian..but he decided to do scene in actual nude without Nina knowing so her reaction was 100% real...it shocked her...lol..best scene ever..
