2020-09-30 16:02:46 +0000 UTCIt may not be my favorite season finale for Arrow (simply bc they topped themselves in future seasons), but I love it ofc. The Malcolm/Oliver fight scene was great, all the character growth from Tommy, Felicity, Lance, Diggle and Oliver was amazing. I wish Tommy didn't have to die but it made a lot of sense why he did. It makes this the worst possible outcome for Malcolm (you know avenging his wife but killing his son), it was a surprising twist and it gave Oliver a chance to grow even more. Now onto season 2 aka the BEST season of Arrow :)

Very rarely do you get to see the “everyone does their best, everyone learns their lesson, but the villain still wins in the end” story played out in a live action comic book adaptation. I think this is also the first episode where you really get to see Amell’s acting pick up. The absolute despair when he asks Tommy to open his eyes always gets me, and that doesn’t hold a candle to some of the stuff that comes up.
