I would expand on that and say that the Season 1 finale is one of the greatest episodes of television EVER. If another episode is less mind-blowing than that, it doesn't follow that it's therefore unsatisfactory, or "filler."

2020-09-10 20:00:18 +0000 UTCIt may seem filler plot wise but this episode was more character progression which in turn leads to plot change. Also, I don't think it's right to hold regular episodes to the finale standard b/c the finale is the big bang. Feel free to hold up each finale to each other

2020-08-11 10:15:19 +0000 UTCThis episode and the last are not my favourite either but this is a character driven show. The pull for me at least is the characters. Michael and Tahani both had character growth in this episode, Michael learning to be more human and Tahani yes she knew what the torture was going to be and it still worked, but she wants to be better than that. Not many shows can pull off what The Good Place did in the season 1 finale but if you're looking for a twist or something that crazy every episode it's just not going to happen. It's a great show but yes it has its highs and lows like every other show.
