Good reaction, and good episode. Definitely the previous one was stronger. A solid 8 for me. But it shows that they considered this as a series finale and then when they learnt that they would continue they added that last part, to get you to season 4.

Pineapple! That's a callback to the first episode with Bryce and the Black Friday sale at the store (Chuck versus the Nemesis). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZA29AhiP6Y

Back in season 2 when Emmett was creating the employee competition (with the 65" TV price) he referred to "Moses Finkelstein" as the founder of the Buy More.

The way I always thought of it was, that thing he downloaded as a kid was a "Pre-Intersect," designed to essentially "format" the brain to be conducive to an Intersect, which as you say, is why he was selected for recruitment to begin with.

CRUCIAL INFO HERE: Do you remember how Chuck got to the CIA radar in the first place? When he was at Stanford he aced a test on subliminal images and his professor wanted to recruit him for a CIA project until Bryce convinced him that he cheated. THIS EXPLAINS HOW Chuck was able to do that. He uploaded one of the earlier attempts at an intersect created by his dad. What Chuck uploaded wasn't an actual intersect but rather a few subliminal messages dad inbedded into a computer to see if it would work. He knew Chuck had a special brain (one susceptible to the program, and knew he was special). This is a great callback to his early days to season 1 and I am not sure people picked up on that because I haven't seen many comments on the subject. Let me know what you think? Anyway great reaction, looking forward to season 4.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of subway, but they pretty much strait up saved this show. The helped keep Community going too.

Yeah, I love the OTT Subway love because Subway earned it, lol. I was a part of that fan campaign that targeted Subway, and they actually came through in a big way and basically saved the show. So the Subway jokes always felt like one big inside joke love-fest between the creators, the fans, and the sponsor who swooped in and saved the day, and I could never be mad or annoyed at them.

Andrea

It's probably been stated in older episodes but in case it hasn't, the blatant subway commercials are due to the fact that Subway sponsored the show hard after cancellation risks. I think it was in season 2 when the show was going to be cancelled with out a doubt and because of subway product placement, fans lined up down the block from subway locations as a sign of loyalty to show how much they loved the show. it somehow worked and so Subway became a major inside joke for the show form then on and product placements became extra blatant but it's less annoying if you know the story behind it.
