More than anything Rory sounds like she's trying to convince herself that she still loves Dean at the end of the episode. And she doesn't do a very good job.

Another great reaction to a really good season opener. Watching your confusion in the dream sequence was hilarious.

The way you feel about Christopher is the way I feel about him. I hate the way that everyone treats him like he does no wrong. Rory really bothers me with how she handles the whole Dean and Jess situation. I did like that she had her mom’s back when it came to Christopher though. I loved that Lorelai called Rory out.

Rory's very last conversation with her dad was about "only pursue this if you're SURE this time", and all about how important it was for them that it worked out this time, which he said it would. Then she finds out it will never work out for her parents immediately after that conversation. I would have been very surprised if they had Rory be on good terms with her dad so soon after that. I agree with you on everything else though, and what I promised in a previous post regarding Rory, continues: Boooooo!

Completely with you. I personally really like Jess, not that he's not a dick sometimes cause he can be lol but I love him as a character. His sarcasm, and his genuine admiration and interest for Rory. She definitely needs to be more mature and end things with Dean, because I agree that Jess is the best fit for her. :)

It's so interesting hearing you're opinions on Rory which I completely agree with. Rory feels entitled to things, especially other people and their attention, and actually during this time I don't even hate her yet 😂 actually I still like her as a character, at least enough to enjoy the show, but even in these earlier seasons, bits and pieces of that entitlement / selfishness are evident. However watching this for the first time I was more annoyed than angry, maybe because I love both Jess and Dean so it's hard to pick which one deserves to be happy. They both do, and as much as I love Dean (and I really do), Jess is a better fit for her so I get the attraction. You're right she should just break up with Dean. Upon first viewing the main reason I didn't want them to break up was because I thought Jared would be off the show if they did (which is the main reason I love Dean so much😂🖤) but in the world of Gilmore Girls it would have been responsible for Rory to do that. I find that the only thing Rory is incapable of being responsible with is other people's feelings. Anyway so glad we get to see more Paris. Glad you liked the episode ✌🏾

Even though I loved this episode, it still frustrated me to no end. Rory was acting horrible through out the whole episode. How she is acting toward Dean is absolutely awful. I have issues with Christopher and how he acts toward his relationship with Rory. It was definitely wrong of him to ignore Rory for so long. However, I do believe that alot of that had to do with Lorelai, and I'm not just talking about saying no to his marriage proposals. Lorelai did not want anyone else getting involved in her relationship with Rory. It's why she cut Christopher and her parents out of the equation. Richard was right, Lorelai did not want Christopher to be there when it came to raising Rory. It was her way or the highway. Christopher should have ignored Lorelai though and been their for Rory. I can't believe we're already up to season 3! This is one of my favorite seasons. Looking forward to the next episode!

I totally agree with you ofc that Christopher made the active choice that when Lorelai didn't wanna get married to stay away from his daughter. That was totally on Christopher. And Lorelai explained very well in the scene with Luke why she let that slide all this time: she was naively waiting on Christopher to get his shit together and then they could be a family. Let's be real that's also why she dumped Max. She was still waiting on Christopher to be in a place where they could be a real family. And now it's been made clear to her that they never will be, bc Christopher already has his own new family. Which is also shitty. Christopher didn't have to leave Lorelai to raise Sherri's kid. I hate that everyone is making this an either-or-decision. And whether it's intentional or not Christopher always suddenly shows up like a freaking tornado, turns Lorelai's entire world upside down just to then leave again and leaving behind the mess that he made.

I don't think Richard loves Christopher. He just is a traditional guy and thinks it's a good idea that Christopher wants to not walk away from his pregnant girlfriend and create a family with her. In his mind, Lorelai had that chance too when she was 16 and didn't want this back then. He doesn't get why Lorelai didn't want a traditional family back then. Her parents both don't understand how much this entire situation is hurting Lorelai, they're both not the most sensitive people.

I loved seeing your confusion at Lorelai's dream.

I actually love season 3 it’s my second favorite season but I hate Jess in it,he turns into such a dick.

Lara Abdallah

I agree! He treats Rory like she is an adult friend, not like she is a daughter that needs him.

Mariella Nilsson

i don’t think that Richard likes Christofer, but he kind of just uses that to make Lorelai feel bad.

Mariella Nilsson

Good start to season 3! i really like your reactions to this show! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Rory has every reason to be upset with her dad. He bailed even before she was born just because Lorelai didn’t want to get married at 16. Now that his girlfriend is pregnant he just drops Lorelai like she’s some girl he casually dated to suddenly be the dad he never was to Rory. I applaud him for wanting to do better with his new baby but I feel like he’s forgetting that he should still be there for Rory even if she’s older. One phone call a week is not enough to redeem him in my eyes. I also can’t stand him because of the way other characters treat him like he’s a saint.
