2020-07-21 19:24:46 +0000 UTCYeah I agree, the O.C soundtrack introduced me to so many great bands and artists and I really appreciate the work that went into choosing the songs for all the scenes. However I think it might also be because Hallelujah is sooo overused now and it can feel a bit out of place.

2020-07-21 19:23:42 +0000 UTCYou broke my heart with this one LOL for me the music on the OC is what makes the show so good and maybe it’s just nostalgia from watching it back when it was actually on TV but this music moment is one of the best of the entire series so I was so bummed when you didn’t like their hallelujah choice. I guess I could understand where you’re coming from with Ryan you know they make it so dramatic that he’s leaving but it is a teen drama so they’re going to over dramatize one of the most beloved main characters leaving you know the show whether it’s permanently or temporarily obviously the OC is about Ryan so you’ll see next season what happens but For me this is one of the episodes that I always go back to and I always cry at the end so it’s just funny to see you laughing Lol

And he feels like if he stayed in Newport, Theresa's child wouldn't have a real family and since Ryan never had that either, he doesn't want that to happen to this baby too, whether it's his biological child or not.

Ryan is just such a stand-up guy, he would've sacrificed his life to be a father for Theresa's child either way. And Ryan was the most important person in Seth's life, so I understand why he left. It still sucks that he didn't even tell Summer or his parents though.

2020-07-21 11:20:29 +0000 UTCI think regardless if it's Ryan's child, he would go with Theresa either way. He's more so doing this for her than for himself. Because even if it was Eddie's kid, Theresa would never go back to him bc he was abusive. So she'd be alone either way and Ryan is way too good of a person to watch that happen. He'd father this kid either way.

2020-07-21 10:51:20 +0000 UTCI think you really gotta put yourself in Ryan's shoes to understand his choice. Theresa is like his oldest friend and probably his first love. They've known each other all their lives. Ryan knows Theresa's family and he knows her relationship with Eddie is complicated + Ryan just found out he'd hit Theresa at least twice. He knows she is going to have to go through this alone and will struggle physically, emotionally and financially. He feels partly responsible and wants to take care of her and the baby, whether it's his or not. He's not selfish.

But I wouldn't pay too much attention to the IMDB ratings for this show, Steven - I feel like on this series, those ratings pretty much directly correlate to the level soapiness in the episodes, lol. I tend to prefer it when it leans more on the humor and fun.

I dont think Ryan minds not knowing if the kid is his right now, he just doesnt want Theresa to go through it by herself, I think that's really admirable. And Seth left Summer because Ryan was always most important to him, he wouldnt even have Summer if it wasnt for Ryan. And Summer wouldnt have gone with him anyway. I actually like this season finale but its NOTHING compared to the finale of season 2 and 3. Be prepared.

2020-07-21 04:38:52 +0000 UTCnow i have to decide whether to watch along when you start season 2. after season 1 aired, i decided season 2 was certain to disappoint me and i should just leave well enough alone, keep my love of season 1 (minus oliver and marissa) untarnished. friends would ask "don't you want to know what happened to seth and his boat?" nope. well, years later i know about a few things that happen in the rest of the run, and about certain characters who come and go. and i'm curious about some of it . . . but it weirdly feels like a big thing to move on. tbd.

2020-07-21 03:41:56 +0000 UTCIn all seriousness, I think part of Kirsten telling us about her previous pregnancy and her reluctantly accepting and eventually very strongly loving Ryan might be related? Simply based on her showing such strong emotion for him in the same episode she mentions the pregnancy. Btw, there was over 6 months I believe before the next episode. There is something I'm almost positive you will complain about (rightfully) next episode that also somewhat happened in Lucifer and happens in shows between seasons, but I'll elaborate on that in the next one. Anyway, thanks for the reaction
