This is in my top 3 of all time. it hits harder if you were a 12 year old boy watching it. which I was. The friendships and dumb things you do as a kid resonate so much.

Matt Flynn

damn. river and joaquin phoenix are the most talented brothers in hollywood. Rest in Peace, River. We’ll never forget you.

I think we had the same playlist. :D (The real test may be which Tiger Beat posters were on the wall...) Rollerboys and Dream a Little Dream are definitely underrated, if I recall... though I haven't seen either in years, and I really should look them up again.

This movie was such a formative one for me growing up in the late 80s/early 90s. Growing up would have said that this was my favorite movie of all time. There are some many quotes from this thing that all my friends used to say to each other in grade school. A couple of small things that you maybe missed, at the very beginning when the older version on Gordie is in the car it pans over to the newspaper with the story of Chris Chambers death. So if you caught that then you know the whole time that you are watching this that the reason gordie is telling the story was because Chris’s death. And the second thing is the first time the boys run into Ace and eyeball, Ace does say that Chris is eyeballs brother. Seems like you didn’t catch that until later in the movie. Overall, I love that this movie isn’t overstuffed with too much. Now a days you probably couldn’t make this movie because it would seem like there was a lack of a lot of plot (on paper). But to me the journey is the important part. It’s probably my favorite movie as far as showing childhood friendships between guys in that 12 to 14 range right before you get to high school. The friendships and the story itself just seems so pure in that regard.

This was an adaptation of a Stephen King story so no surprise the ending would not be neat and tidy. I love this movie. It had been awhile since I had rewatched this so it was fun doing it now with someone who hadn't seen it before. I actually think this movie is better than an 8-much more substance IMO than some of the other movies you mentioned. I give this a high 9 or even 10

Melissa Murphy

I miss River. You should check out Running On Empty. It's the movie River should have won the Oscar for. Yes, Lost Boys is s must see. You get Feldman and Keifer together again plus Corey Haim. Lost Boys is the movie that gave birth to the phenomenon that was "The Coreys". Coreys goodness can also be found in License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream (as well as others). For solo Haim goodness we have Lucas, Silver Bullet, and the hard to find but so worth it Prayer of the Rollerboys (there are more, but I digress).

Was there a vote for this movie and I missed the post? Or is it spontaneous reaction?

Scarlett Monrow

😂😂 I was so embarrassed/disappointed when it wasn’t!

I literally came on to recommend Lost Boys. Such a fun movie.

Oh, I haven't watched it all the way through for a while. That was fun. My friends and I used to be able to quote along with this like Rocky Horror or something. It's probably my favorite Stephen King story. (I can actually still do the opening paragraph from the book by heart. It just stuck with me.) Of course "The Revenge of Lard-Ass Hogan" is just "Carrie" as if written by a twelve-year-old. Reiner got amazing performances out of those boys. (And yeah, the association of Stephen King was very quiet, since they didn't want people expecting killer clowns jumping out of the sewer. Kind of the same tactic with Shawshank Redemption--which was one of the other novellas in the same collection with The Body, which became Stand By Me. Ace Merrill comes back in one of the later books, "Needful Things.")

If ur a fan of Corey Feldman you should really watch the Lost boys if you haven't seen it.

Kacey Mcnatt

"Is that totally Obi Wan?" You thought Kiefer Sutherland was Ewan McGregor. That made me giggle.

SweetSummit

Please do drop dead Fred if you havnt seen it :) can’t wait to watch this later tonight
