2020-07-03 08:33:30 +0000 UTCThis is a Jane Espenson script and it’s everything you come to expect from her. Funny, quirky and smart with a bunch of quotable lines. Angel scenes with the false T’ish Magev are fantastic. Even though it doesn’t make sense for him to be so insightful because he is not the real deal. But the way those scenes, like the rest of the episode, are written, poking fun at Angel and all his drama is gold. Wesley is of course fantastic alternating between bumbling idiot and badass. Alexis Denisof is so great.

I find it hilarious, it’s so much fun seeing Wesley pretend to be Angel, and even though the swami turned out to be a fake I thought his insights into Angel were pretty spot on. It doesn’t both me that it isn’t connected to the overall plot. In fact, I think this is one of the best episodes to just randomly rewatch because it’s stand alone and very funny without being weighed down by the Darla stuff. I’d probably give this episode a 9
