2020-06-21 08:02:09 +0000 UTCI love all the cap films but this one is my favorite, personally. I believe this is the best MCU film from a film making perspective; that being said, it's not the film I enjoy the most. I can easily name 3 films enjoyed more but I think those have a few more issues.
2020-06-18 15:46:00 +0000 UTCThe person who oversaw the film division of Marvel didn't want to have any interaction with cast or events of any of the tv series, so the Netflix Marvel characters are not going to be mentioned, nor is the characters or events of Marvel's Agents of Shield, Marvel Inhumans (God what a terrible show that was), Marvel's Runaways or Marvel's Cloak and Dagger. There is one exception to this rule. Now in fairness to the producers, these films are carefully plotted out (for the most part) and were usually written between a year or two before they ever got released. TV doesn't work on that sort of timetable, even high end quality cable productions are produced far closer to their air date. As such it's far, far easier for a tv show to write episodes that reference a film (that's been filmed, yet still not released) and managed to put that into their current storylines.

2020-06-18 06:57:23 +0000 UTCFor me this is the least "Comic Book" marvel film. And by that I specifically mean Super Hero Comics, there are a huge amount of comics over the last 70 years that wouldn't fit with what the general public thinks about comics. But this was really far more of a spy film, and as such I know several people who like it for just that who have no interest at all in super Hero films.

2020-06-18 06:51:34 +0000 UTCI can understand that perspective but i personally loved infinity war. The only MCU films that have been been bland or worse are Thor the Dark World, Ant-man and the Wasp, and Avengers Age of Ultron. I'm also not the biggest fan of Iron-Man 2 or 3.
2020-06-18 06:48:08 +0000 UTCI'm going to be a contrary voice here and say this wasn't my favorite MCU movie, in fact I prefer both the other Captain America movies over this one. It's a good movie, sure, but I think it's a bit overhyped. So if you are concerned that none of the movies after this will be as good, then don't be - there's plenty greatness left to go.

2020-06-17 15:46:42 +0000 UTCMight need to go back and watch in release order ;) Thanks for another great reaction! I agree that the film volume needs to be louder though your commentary volume is fine. This is definitely in my top 5 marvel movies. It was number 1, but then Black Panther, Infinity War and Endgame came out which re-arranged my rankings. I'm excited to see you continue on this journey. Also, that *was* one of the actors from Community. There are a lot of other actors from the show in the movies. The Russo Brothers actually directed and produced a lot of Community episodes over the 6 seasons of the show (which makes me wonder if they specifically called on the actors for those cameos as well). Can't wait for you to watch and re-act to that series (wink wink, nudge nudge lol)

2020-06-17 14:59:44 +0000 UTCFor me this is the best MCU movie and honestly I prefer most of these standalones to the big Avengers movies. I mostly enjoyed Endgame but I didn't connect to Infinity War at all. I think for me it’s just too many characters that they only get like 5 minutes of screen time each. I prefer movies with a simpler story where you get to spend time with the characters. Also the Russo Brothers worked on Community so a couple of those actors appear in the Russo’s MCU movies.

2020-06-17 10:29:49 +0000 UTCWelcome to the MCU, Russo Brothers. This sure was one hell of an entrance. Also, I do think your estimation of Infinity War/Endgame will probably go up a bit once you watch them with prior investment and knowledge of the characters, as they were designed to be a payoff for a story they'd been building with these characters for years, with lots of callbacks and references to these other films. So it'll be interesting to see if that's the case when you rewatch them.

2020-06-17 10:28:09 +0000 UTCFun reaction for sure! Thank you very much! However, the volume for the film footage is far too quiet. For your next movie reactions, can you please turn up the volume for the film footage? Your commentary volume is perfect!

2020-06-17 08:06:18 +0000 UTCI find most of the MCU films to be extremely overrated, but this one is a personal favorite of mine.
