The occupants were clearly long dead so EMS wouldn't have gone in and the rotting corpses are in view from the front door It is common for police to NOT go in right away prior to forensics getting there. They aren't supposed to disturb a crime scene. That's how evidence gets screwed up or even planted. Although yeah then they all go in right after Dexter and are just casually stepping in shit lol but in a non tv situation it would be protocol to preserve the crime scene.

2020-12-19 04:05:31 +0000 UTCI went back to the very first episode of the series just to see if there were any hints at all but now I think the show is tainted for me LMAO when Dexter first introduces Deb to the audience he describes her in a way that's super creepy knowing what I know now. Dexter says if he were to ever have feelings for someone it would be for Deb, and I know the context is totally different but now I can't think of anything else when I hear his introduction to his own sister haha

I kinda figured Deb would have to find out about Dexter soon but didn't expect it to be this season. I thought maybe at the end of the next, but that storyline is what I'm super interested in.

Starting with season 7 one of the writers did a weekly podcast by episode, and he discussed the backlash and said they honestly couldn't figure out why fans supported a serial killer but had trouble with non blood related foster brother and sister falling in love, LOL

I saw an interview with Colin Hanks and the original plan was to put the baby in the basket but he didn't cooperate and he screamed throughout the scene. Cruel. Hope he wasn't scarred for life (like Dexter)

2020-12-15 23:17:45 +0000 UTCA lot of us (I’m sure) were holding back on saying any dislike of the season, but this was not a fan favorite, and it was the first critically panned season of Dexter. Obviously there’s still enough to enjoy because people still watch your reactions, but if you had a decreased interest, it’s because of this season. This is a very well received episode though, critically, and a finale that made people jump up off the couch. It definitely got a lot of people back into Dexter.

It's like the writers are 'gaslighting' us and saying, "she was in love with him the whole time, look!" and I'm just not buying it. That being said, I don't like it. But I'm interested to see where it goes so the writers actually get a pass on that one. The one thing this episode I cannot forgive is the smashing in of Dexter's face on the mural. Doesn't make any sense. Angel says they waited for Dexter and never went inside, WHAT? Giving Dex the opportunity to save his ass, great, but super sloppy writing. Also, Mike Anderson was pointless this season. The show brought him in and did nothing with his character. Another thing you mentioned was Angel and Maria. You're right, if you told someone who watched Dexter (not season 5 for w/e reason) Angel and Maria are together it almost sounds like fan fiction. But pretty consistent with the show imo. Remember Angel and Barbra Gianna? Dropped like a sack of potatoes the next season (it was a single phone call, that's it). They do that a lot. Seasonal erasure. Certain things are dropped and never spoken of again like they never happened. This season was interesting. I know ppl dont love it but I agree all the elements of the season worked pretty well. The overall theme made sense and I thought bringing in Mos Def as Brother Sam was cool. I'm just drawn to this show bc it's fun and doesn't take it self too seriously (in certain aspects, mostly story lol) S7 is fun and I can't wait for you to react to it. Every season has at least 1 'main' character that knows Dexter is a serial killer. Brian/Rudy, Lila and Doakes, Miguel, Trinity, Lumen, Travis, and now Deb. I think after "what if a serial killer killed one of Dexter's family members?" that "what if Dexter's family know he's a serial killer" is a pretty good/logical next step.
