Clara is my favorite companion too. She started somewhere around the time I was first caught after binging the series the first time and got to the live airing episodes.

This Doctor had met two versions of this woman before and each time he failed to save her like he manages to save everyone else. In this episode, he managed to stop her upload to the irl robot in the stairways midway and return her back to her body, he Finally saved her. So he was just really really excited and happy that he finally saved her, so he went a bit loopy, got her flowers looked after the house took messages etc 👍🏼 Also, the BBC America fan base was really being to grow by this point so they were really exaggerating the dynamic of Doctor and assistant and "reintroducing" the show to a new audience (again)

Agree with you on many things you mentioned, the episode had flaws here and there with certain things, but I really really enjoy these two interacting. It's either Rose or Clara for me as best companions, and best doctor is a little too difficult to pick.

I really love this episode, mostly because I love Clara lol Her and Eleven's dynamic and chemistry so so good. I ship it lol I agree with you about him having a bit of a crush on her. But he likes a mystery. The leaf will be explained. Also, the Great Intelligence, the villain, is the same as the one in Snowman

2020-12-02 21:48:03 +0000 UTCPeople tend to either love or hate Clara because of the way the doctor treats her. and her relevance to the story. The crush aspect can definitely be felt, though you could argue it's more of an infatuation with how she is unique. The doctor loves mysteries, he's obsessed with them. Any time he discovers something new, he can't help but fawn over it and Clara fits that because he's encountered what seems to be the same person (with minor differences) in three vastly different timelines and to him that's fascinating, so you could say it it comes off as a crush because of that.

2020-12-02 20:11:00 +0000 UTCLove this episode, a 9.5/10 for me, Love Clara, love the Doctor and Clara together, also I agree with you that The Doctor seems to have a crush on her, also The Villain the woman was talking to in the screen was named in this episode by the woman, she called it the Great Intelligence which is the same villain from the last episode (The Snowmen), it was also the same actor on the screen as last episode (Dr. Simeon aka the Great Intelligence)
