The more compelling mythology stuff doesn't kick in right away on Nikita, but as a fellow Chuck fan, I'd say it's definitely worth checking out. Just go into it with the mindset that you might not get hooked 'til fairly late into the first season. Both Chuck and Nikita were airing at the same time there for a year or two, and as a big fan of the spy genre I was in TV heaven there for a while - Chuck was my go-to "fun spy comedy" and Nikita my go-to "fun spy drama." Together, they filled the spy-romp-shaped hole in my heart left behind by Alias. Though I'd say of those 3 shows, Nikita had the tightest writing, as well as the most satisfying ending. The only spy show that comes to mind to top it for me is The Americans.

2020-11-23 09:30:01 +0000 UTCSince I had nothing better to do I looked up info on your satellite question; apparently there are over 3,000 "dead satellites" in orbit. Dead meaning "inactive" like natural wear-and-tear or low on fuel/power, etc. etc. The USA alone has over 1,300 satellites in space. There's even a spacecraft cemetery in the South Pacific Ocean where space objects crash down safely on earth

2020-11-22 17:37:42 +0000 UTCNikita is and was VERY underrated. Such a good show, great characters, great twists and turns, great action. So it never ranked amongst spy shows bc it aired on the CW and never had BIG ratings, but was consistently good enough to get 4 seasons.

And they know once they disobey an order or disagree with Percy, they're as good as dead. Some are brainwashed too, but I think the majority is just scared to get killed.

For me, the character buildiing/relations and interesting mythology is what is most important to me. Chuck, is for me, the best show like that out there, but i'm curious if I should give Nikita a try.

2020-11-22 11:24:39 +0000 UTCYes what an episode!!! In terms of high ranking spy/espionage shows, Nikita always fairs well on ranked lists. Some other shows tend to get ranked higher, shows like Alias or The Americans. But when it comes to personal preference it is more about what draws you in; otherwise critically, like I said other shows tend to rank higher in terms or ratings, reviews, etc.
