The actress who played Maze was actually pregnant for half of season 2 and she took some times off after giving birth. Four of the episodes in this season were supposed to be apart of season 2 and were filmed, but then pushed to season 3 (one of them being Mr & Mrs Mazikeen Smith which is why she was in episode 3, but none of the other early ones). She does come back, though! I never caught the double meaning of that Pierce line in my earlier watches of this show, but I like that it was there to add to the mystery of this guy. I wish they gave more of an insight of what happened with the murderer and the victim. We know *how* she died, but not what exactly happen. Maybe I missed it? Anyway, great reaction as always!
