Anybody else just felt UNCOMFORTABLE about the Puck child pornography storyline?? This is how I generally feel about Puck now, especially whenever I think I might like his comedy or his voice. So conflicting...

2021-05-03 23:34:46 +0000 UTCWhether Brittany secretly knew what she was doing or not doesn’t change what Santana was doing. Yes, Brittany should’ve known better and was smart enough to know better. Yes, Brittany is responsible for her own choices, but Brittany states that their relationship confuses her. There is nothing to indicate that Brittany knew she was cheating and just continued doing it. Especially since she rejected Santana to stay with Artie. There is also nothing to indicate that Santana knew Brittany knew that were cheating. So the fact still stands that Santana was convincing Brittany that they weren’t cheating so they could continue having sex and that Brittany just trusted Santana. I mean this is the same girl that believed Santa could make Artie walk so....

Britt shows some measure of intelligence and competence in her scenes with Santana which may point towards her being smarter than most people perceive her to be, and I'd find it weird that if we're being realistic enough to morally judge these kids, someone as sexually active as her wouldn't know what cheating was.

2020-11-17 23:51:23 +0000 UTCHonestly, the "Kiss" cover is nightmare fuel. I think it's a general consensus that it's pretty bad. I think Will/Matthew Morrison was trying too hard to emulate Prince's vocals, which is something no one can do well lol His falsetto might have thrown you off because of it. I like Holly a lot, but she was definitely in it too much. I still don't understand why she was in "Landslide" or even why she was singing lead. If Brittana wanted her to be a part of it, then she could have just played guitar and sung backup. I also felt weird that they centered her in that song. I really liked "Animal" but it was different for the Warblers (which I think was the point) and "Afternoon Delight" is so funny to me.

2020-11-16 17:58:11 +0000 UTCI love this ep, but totally agree with you about there being too much focus on Holly in it. I get that she was the facilitator for a bunch of things, but I think the ep could have been a bit better it if hadn’t tried so hard to showcase Gwyneth Paltrow. I especially would have liked to hear more of Santana in “Landslide” because I love her and her voice so much, but Holly dominated that song. But the scene where Santana confesses her love to Brittany by the lockers is one of best scene this show ever did, imo. And I actually love the Glee version of “Afternoon Delight” because I think it’s funny and it sounds really good to me.

2020-11-16 13:05:11 +0000 UTCThis episode is one of my favorites. While I don’t love Santana manipulating Brittany to have sex with her, I was so happy to see them finally go deeper with Santana and Brittany. I love landslide and it still makes me emotional to this day. I also don’t love the way Santana reacted to Brittany saying she couldn’t break up with Artie, but I can understand how difficult it was for Santana to open up to Brittany like that just to get rejected. That locker scene and Santana’s confession was so well done. The Kurt and Blaine stuff and the Burt scene was so great. This episode came out during a time when sex education was a huge debate in the world and how much we should show on tv. Teen pregnancy was on the rise and teen shows were starting to be more blunt with talking about teenagers having sex in hopes to open a dialogue and push better education. It’s no secret that teenagers have sex and I think it’s Important to talk about and be smart about it. Especially because teenagers get so invested and passionate about their favorite shows. However, even though other shows were doing this as well, they weren’t talking about it with lgbt characters. Glee really broke down barriers for inclusivity in media. I love that Blaine cared about Kurt enough to go to Burt even though I’m sure it was so embarrassing. Kurt and Burts relationship is probably one of the most impactful aspects of this show. Seeing a father talk to his gay son about sex was so groundbreaking. While I do think Burt was a little sexist in his speech, I love the overall message of telling Kurt that he can come and talk to him and to make sure he’s being safe and taking care of his heart. I definitely agree on there being too much Holly and the Holly/Schue stuff wasn’t necessary. I think the reason that the warblers sound different is because they added Kurt. So the voices and arrangements for the warblers stuff were an actual college A cappella group and done in NY. That’s why Blaine is the only one that sings because they weren’t going to send multiple people to NY all the time to record. When they added other vocals, they were produced in LA by different people so that’s why they sound different. I agree kiss isn’t the best but I still like the song. And afternoon delight is peek comedy. It’s not meant to be a great musical performance because it’s meant to be a comedic moment.

2020-11-16 11:24:47 +0000 UTCI really love seeing Santana loose the attitude and show vulnerability, but I also hate how she out and out emotionally blackmails Brittany. Interesting that she is so afraid of being outed yet she outs herself fully in a crowded school hallway (Brittany already let half the group know they were having sex last season, so since their wasn't any shown blowback from the group, I can see why she would be willing to sing in front of them about her feelings). And I can say as someone who first told someone I was gay back (god I was in 6th or 7th grade, so maybe 1978, I would never, ever, ever have my first conversation with someone I was interested with in a public building. Just wouldn't ever happen. That always seemed really weird to me. As the two characters have been shown in both seasons spending time in each other's homes, they obviously can speak in private. I do understand the trusting the Glee Club though. As the choir was the first group in High school that I freely expressed who I was, and that was true in both high School and in every university I went to. Those groups always had my back, so I can certainly understand Santana feeling she could sing about her feelings and desires about Brittany in that group.
