The scene with Tara and Willowks spell is very important. I’m glad you noticed it. Just make a note of it for the future. You’ll find out why

Honestly, the biggest issue for me with this whole arc is that I just don't give a crap about Riley or his military dudes whatsoever lol. I just don't care. It's boring to me. They are spending far too much time focusing on Riley, showing things from his POV, and we just don't care. We want to see things through the lens of Buffy and the Gang. Or Spike lol. We didn't have multiple episodes focused on Angel's life away from Buffy but we still grew to care about his character and their relationship. We didn't follow Xander or Anya around on their own, but we like and care about them... They just wrote Riley and this initiative weirdly to me, and they are just not interesting enough for me. SOME people disagree, of course. But that's cool. Just my opinion.

I pretty much hate the initiative, Riley, Maggie, and Adam. And any episode that focuses on any of those is not very good. Episodes like this one and The I in Team are at the bottom of my list of Buffy episodes.

As Shannan might (would) say, Floppy Disc Dude.

SweetSummit

I really dislike the design of Adam. You might have said this already, but these are people with blasters, $20,000 headset-heart-monitor-thingies and they're government backed. I suppose it could have been a subtle dig at how government-funded projects suffer from lack of funding, but... Adam looks like he was built by a teenager. It's not even a good Frankenstein's monster thing.

Season 4 is overall good. But the problem is the last minute changes they had to make. Seth green left abruptly to film a movie. He was supposed to stay aregular but he had opportunities elsewhere which is understandable. The professor did the same as she was supposed to be the big bad .all in all its impressive this season is still ok after two abruct cast changes right after losing 2 or 3 other regulars to spearhead the angel spinoff.

Ls7196

This a very weak episode a 6 at best. Thank goodness there are better ones coming up.

Allan Cornett

This is an 8 for me. You just have to get over the Adam thing. Which, I agree, is definitely a thing

Alexis Cardarella

I woke up to two Buffy episodes. Spoiled for today ^^. Though I agree that these are some of the weaker one from this season, not the weakest in my opinion but below what you would expect by now. And Adam, I don't think there is a single buffy fan out there that would claim he was the show's best villian or even a very good one. Not that the concept of him isn't a very brilliant one though.

Willow was trying to do a spell to find the polgara demon. it was supposed to be able to show all demonic activity and differentiate between the types of demons.

Valencia Lanier

No need to infer, Willow said it plainly a few scenes earlier that it is what she was about to do.

Vicky N

So the spell Willow went to do with Tara was to locate demonic entities/energies. She was trying to locate the Polgara using magic. I can see how it might be confusing though because Willow wasn't really giving Tara the full story either since she's not completely a part of this situation. You just kind of have to infer that's what's going on in the scene.

Katherine Thoreson

Ok so the actress who played Professor Walsh decided to leave the show. She was originally supposed to be the big bad this season as a mad scientist but the actress had other commitments. Thats why they had to kill her off.

Crystal vior

So the “weird shot” you referred to...they using a lens to get the kind of shot they wanted, and because it was originally broadcast in 4:3 you wouldn’t see the rounded edges of the shot. But since they only have the 16:9 version available it has that weird “someone’s watching them” look

Nick Velasquez

We can all just move on there was nothing to see here. This may have been harsh, I think it all depends on how you feel about Riley, there was nothing technically wrong with anything that happened, it was just difficult to care about Riley and that is not the Actors/Character's fault. I am going to blame Spike. If this episode was all Spike, it would have been awesome

o

These 2 episodes are the worst part of the season. Don't worry... it can only go up from here.
