Robin Hood was recast because the actor who played Robin before decided to go with playing Lucifer instead and therefore was unable to come back to Once Upon a Time. Now... Robin Hood is played by Sean Maguire and I absolutely love him as Robin.

However, I do love that season two brought in Hook as a major character and I love all of his storylines. as well as seeing how magic coming Storybrooke played out overall too. :)
