Phenomenal! This episode is easily one of my favorite episodes within season two. I love that both Reese and Root are given all access to the Machine, as they both use it for their own reasons. For Root... she hopes to find the actual body of the Machine so she can set it free from what she sees to be Finch's cruelty, and for Reese... he uses the Machine to fight to save Finch from Root, as well as to fight off any threats coming after them. I absolutely love the scene where the Machine gives Reese a time after time to reveal to him where each threat coming after them is coming from, as Reese shoots threat after threat. It's a brilliant and clever scene to help show just how powerful this Machine really is. It takes awhile before Reese and Shaw finally save Finch and stop Root, while at the same time they discover that Finch was able to help the Machine so that it would be able to free itself should this threat against it arise. I love this idea. It's brilliant. And then... in the end, the man behind project Northern Lights known only as Special Council receives a call from his own boss upon failing to get his hands on the Machine as well, then turns the phone over to Hersh, who then is ordered to kill Special Council, who does nothing to try to stop Hersh from killing him. And lastly... I really enjoy the overall backstory that finally reveals how Nathan Ingram is killed for planning to go public about the Machine, and that reveals how Finch is wounded and how everyone including Grace comes to believe him to be dead, supposedly being killed in he same ferry bombing that kills Nathan. The moment when Grace comes to search for Finch among the wounded upon learning that Finch had been there... is tragic. Especially upon seeing how much Finch longed to go to her, only to realize he couldn't for his and her own safety. I also love that all of this reveals why Finch comes to want to try to save as many of those on the irrelevant list as he can and why he hired Reese in the first place, after he learns that Nathan was one one of the numbers that had been erased at midnight the night before his death. Fantastic! Thank you once again! I can't wait for you to begin watching season three!! The show continues to be exciting and you're going to love all that's to come. I hope, anyways. :) Until your next reaction...

That’s why Carter and Fusco don’t have yellow boxes but whites one. We’ve seen early on in season one that Reese’s ex-fiancée was a number, and a little later it was revealed in the episode where Finch tries to keep John from a case involving a women trying to escape from her abusive husband (the US Marshall), that she was a number that kept coming up until she was murdered.

2019-12-05 02:22:14 +0000 UTCI don't think the woman on the phone is the president, since then Shaw wouldn't refer to 'Control' as 'him' in her first episode, when she was trying to find whoever was in charge of the program. She would've thought that it might be a woman and said "him or her" , but instead she assumed it was a man. If the president was a woman it would've been a quite clear and hard to miss message that not everyone powerful and important is a man, and the f'n president would come to mind when thinking of people 'in charge', thus Shaw wouldn't have made the assumption.

The thing with Harold putting some code out there - he essentially planted a virus putting it, I think, into the hands of the Chinese, supposedly to hack the Machine - which an unknown person or entity would get wind of and seek out in order to actually hack the machine, and in planting the virus wold trigger the machine into defending itself and effectively setting it free. Harold didn't know where the threat would come from - in the end it was Decima Technologies (the Old guy that keep turning up). When Harold put that code out there it was the same laptop that Reese and Cara Stanton were sent after in Ordos. And the reason Harold didnt want Reese with him was, as he says, so that Reese cold carry on the mission if it went south. Also, I think, just not wanting him to be targeted and killed like Nathan

Yellow doesn't mean caution, it means "asset to the machine" or Admin sometimes. it is yellow on the government people because machine is still programmed to send them terrorist numbers and in that scene they said they got a new number. Government assets were blue before, that's why Shaw was blue colour when you asked.
