I think the thing with Amy/Rory is less her choosing safety, as much as the fact they've been friends forever. He's always been there, and she's never really had to deal with losing him. So she kind of put him on the back burner when she had the opportunity to go with the doctor. I don't think that makes her a bad person, to be honest I related a lot to her wanting more adventure and being bored by the thought of a calm life. She's my favorite companion by a lot, but maybe partly because I started watching in this season. I also don't like Rose though, so my opinion isn't exactly popular :)

And he says the only reason the dream lord was a dark reflection of him and not amy and rory is because they dont have enough inner darkness to feed on. Id go back and watch the last 5 minutes of the ep again because they do explain it very quickly. I wish the dream lord word would have been more, but sadly not

He seems like a shady side of the Doctor that we catch glimpses of here and there, which is kind of awesome. (In the episode the Doctor told them the Dream Lord was him. The darkness in him that the psychic pollen fed off of.)

The concept was so unique and I loved how it built Amy/Rory’s relationship and Amy as a character. The Dreamlord was such a interesting villain and I loved him being the mirror of the Doctor.

Personally, Rory is my favorite nonDoctor male character on the show. I know at first it's like"that's the same thing they did to Mickey" and I hated the whole Amy/Doctor thing because it's like you said, it seemed out of nowhere, especially throughout the episode Amy kept saying River was his wife. (I won't rant about it) the last episode I felt like it was trying to highlight the Doctor/Amy thing in a good light, which reflects how Amy was feeling. She was scared of getting married and runs away with the Doctor. She assumes the Doctor is what she wants, to travel with him, and go on adventures. After all, that's what she wanted since she was a little girl. Rory was normal, Rory was boring. The Doctor is this fantastic man who will save her from her boring life. It was reflected in the Vampire episode. Then finally, we have Amy's choice where she has to face how she really feels. What she thought she always wanted vs. What seems to be safe. What she didn't seem to realize, was that she wanted both. She wanted the adventure and to run with the Doctor, but she wasn't willing to give Rory up for it. In the end, she wants both.

2020-05-06 05:45:19 +0000 UTCThe dream lord was just a manifestation of his dark thoughts. That pollen in his hand at the end was what made the dream lord manifest. Love the line "there’s only one person in the universe who hates me as much as you do" I have plenty of self hate at 40 can only imagine how much I would have if we lived 900+ years

2020-05-06 04:15:09 +0000 UTCI am so happy that you enjoyed this one, it is why I thought you were right were you needed to be, with how you felt about the relationships heading in. this episode has a starker meaning to those who aligned it with the Rose and Mickey Relationship. I am just such a fan of what is going on right now and this for me cleared up the thing I disliked most about how both 9 and 10 dealt with Rose and Mickey's relationship, they decided that Mickey was not good enough, were as 11 made it "Amy's Choice"........brilliant!!!!!!
