Listening to the podcast, the guy who plays Brent couldn't be any more different. He's such a nice guy in real life, but he played that part SO. WELL. Exactly the way they needed him to.

I think the โfake it till you make itโ thing kind of works in these situations. People coming out of dysfunctional or toxic home lives donโt know the emotional rewards of caring about other people. And itโs not just about rewards, it builds something up inside you when you have a strong relationship that is supportive from both sides, platonic or romantic or whatever. You will sacrifice for others out of caring but the caring comes first, and you canโt get there without at least being nice and making effort to others, even if that is initially selfishly motivated. The relationships have to develop somehow for people to learn that there are other ways to live, aside from self-preservation.

You are so on point with this. So true. They could definitely see the future. Tragic. Just when you think America has reached its worst, this administration is like, "hold my beer."

Itโs mad how very culturally relevant this show is. Even more so now. โWe hope that our early successes make up for the embarrassing mess weโve become, like Facebook and America โ. Plus the odd Diddy mention. Itโs like the new the future. Even the Janets โNow we have a group chat.โ ๐

You're at the point in the show where I can no longer wait patiently for the next batch of episode reactions so I'm gonna watch the rest myself and then come back to watch you finish the series too, it's that good.
