And this is coming from a HUGE fan of its director -- this was a period where he was still S&B's guy and they'd throw him on whatever blockbuster they had next. It'd be a few years before he'd get some control over his own career and dig into projects that exemplified his dark-with-the-faintest-glimmer-of-hope worldview. But That Certain Sequel was just a bad match, up and down.
