servers were down for the last 3 hours

We need to inform you that due to a technical error, our servers were unavailable from 10 Feb 2025, 04:02:01 GMT to 10 Feb 2025, 07:31:01 GMT. This may have affected the members-only functionality like signing in.
This issue was caused by a braindead approach to server maintenance from our service provider, which resulted in a hard reboot of our server infrastructure that was unable to recover on its own.
Will this happen again? Probably not, but since we are still in alpha, much worse issues may occur.
Our server infrastructure was designed for cost-effective support of 200,000 free users, with the capacity to handle up to 10,000 requests per second. Achieving 100% uptime for hundreds of patrons was not a priority at that time.
Our contract with this provider will expire soon, and we will likely be migrating to a more reliable solution.
