A lot has changed since our original extension got killed in December 2024, and you might be confused that the new extension does not work the way you expect it to. You can read more about what happened here.
But don't worry! This guide will tell you how to get Videochat Extension up and running again!
The main thing you must understand is that you need to activate the extension MANUALLY now! It’s not that difficult; just click on the extension icon on the site where you need to use it.
Step 0. Become a Patron.
If you want to use Videochat Extension on blacklisted sites like Chatruletka, Ome.tv and Minichat (or any other websites we will blacklist in the future) you must become a patron, which grants you access to the advanced stealthy Browser Mode.
There are many reasons why we can't make this free, but the main issue is that we want to comply with the internal rules of extension stores, minimize risks for everyone by reducing our presence on hostile sites to less than 1%, and be able to dedicate serious time to working on the project and supporting our users.
Our base tier is priced way below what Patreon recommends as a minimum, so consider this membership as being a part of an elite group of extremely wealthy people who can afford the privilege.
If you don't want to pay, that's completely fine; you can use the same set of features for free in Website Mode, which works great on many sites. However, some sites are blacklisted from it, as the use of Website Mode can easily be identified.
Step 1. Install a modern browser.
This step is crucial.
Our browser extension heavily utilizes cutting-edge browser technologies, so we recommend using modern browsers like Brave, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
If your main browser is Opera, then you MUST install something else; otherwise, you will probably be fine.
Step 2. Install Videochat Extension.

Click the extension icon in the toolbar OR in the context menu (right-click on any page).
Step 4. Sign in.
If you want to use the extension on blacklisted sites, you need to have a membership on Patreon, and you need to confirm that you are an active patron.
Scroll down to the 'Browser Mode' section and sign in with your Patreon account.
Once you sign in, you should see that you are an active patron.
Sometimes it might take a minute to recognize your status.
Step 5. Enable the flag.
Click "Start on this website" to learn how to enable the required flag for the extension.
Chromium flags are special options that can change how the browser behaves. They are like hidden settings that can unlock new features or modify existing ones.
The flag you need to activate is called 'Extensions on chrome:// URLs'.
You should click 'Start on this website' to read the notice, and then press the button to enable the flag! If something goes wrong, you can find this flag manually by going to chrome://flags:
After enabling the flag, restart the browser, and you’re good to go!
Step 6. Start the extension!
Activate the extension on the site you want to monitor and choose any interface from the options provided!
Simply click on the extension icon in the toolbar or the context menu; it's not difficult at all!
Just click 'Start on this website' again and if you enabled the flag you will see this:
