I usually never do that and get too much info from trailers that donโt make the watch as exciting and am always disappointed ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐ this one actually wasnโt bad though. I stayed up until 2am with work the next morning cuz it lowkey made me a little scared to sleep in the dark that night ๐๐ญ

2024-08-23 23:11:59 +0000 UTCI actually saw this one in theaters and I have to say that I liked it more with this second viewing. Not that I didn't like it in theaters- I did. It's a really good movie, but it had been so hyped up (I would say overhyped) that it didn't exactly live up to what I was expecting going in. The performances were outstanding across the board. It had great atmosphere and did a fantastic job of building tension. The film was original and tried (and mostly succeeded) in doing something different. For me, the thing that held it back from being a truly great movie was the ending. I just felt like the explanation/reason for what had happened was... lacking. I can't really put into words why- even after seeing the film for a second time. I guess it just seemed like a let down compared to the rest of the movie. Don't get me wrong- I still liked the movie a lot and would recommend it to anyone who likes this genre of film. And honestly, if I had seen it cold without any of the pre-film internet buzz, I probably would have liked it even more. Bottom line (after the longest comment ever ๐คทโโ๏ธ) is that this was a really good movie that, for me, was marred a bit by a lackluster ending and the fact that it was way overhyped online.
