Tiers Have Changed - The Great Patreon Shakeup!

Greetings, Bloodworth here with some big news for the future of our Patreon.

A big piece of feedback from our recent survey was that our Patreon tiers have become too bloated and confusing over the years. So we’ve taken the time to clean house, realign how our tiers are structured, and figure out which rewards are the best fit for each tier, cutting the number down from 15 tiers to just 8 as a result.

We really wanted to be sure that when you look at a tier’s rewards, they all make sense and go together. So rather than having weird exceptions to the $5 tier, like an extended cut for one show in the $1 tier and early access for another show in the $7 tier, all of those similar rewards are now bundled together.

Along with that, we really wanted to make sure that the $5 and $10 tiers are our most attractive options as we believe that’s in line with what most people expect out of a monthly charge. We’ve put the majority of our rewards in those two tiers to give them as much value as we can. The $1 tier isn’t going away, but it’s now more of a tip jar. If you can’t afford to give more but want to show your support, you can still give $1 a month, interact, and provide feedback on Patreon, but if you can move into the $5 tier, that would help us out tremendously, and there are a lot of benefits for doing so.

The $10 tier in particular is shifting dramatically. Rather than simply being for submissions to the community showcase, this tier is now the prime spot to contribute in a number of ways, allowing you to submit ideas for projects such as Stream Team and Trash Babies.

We’re also introducing some new and returning rewards. Patrons in our Discord have already been creating top ten lists, and now we’ll include those lists once a month on the podcast to get the desk’s reactions, similar to when we go over NPD sales. In the $10 tier, we’re introducing a group stream suggestion bucket similar to Trash Babies, where you can add games you’d like to see us play on Tuesday nights, which we’ll reference and choose from alongside our own ideas. The monthly Q&A is coming back, and we’re also devising a radio call-in style show that you can participate in via our Discord.

One of the other things we’ve seen is that if you’re someone who is willing to give more than $10 per month, you’re likely doing so more because you believe in the future of Easy Allies rather than because you’re looking to get a specific reward. So we’ve changed our approach to how our higher level tiers are presented. They still have rewards associated with them of course, but rather than being a patron in the “Fan Mail” tier, someone at the $50 level will now be known as a “Silver Producer,” as each of those tiers is now more about a recognition of thanks for more generous contributions. And in case you didn’t know, you can always edit your pledge manually and give a different dollar amount if you have your eye on a number that falls in-between any of these tiers.

There are changes across the board. Some benefits are moving up into higher tiers while others are moving down. Take a look at all the new tiers below, figure out which level makes the most sense for you, and as always, thank you so much for being a patron. We could never do this without you!
