Hey gang. I wanted to know if it’s weird to be traveling again for previews? After covid, I kinda expected all previews to continue to be done remotely or to see the devs themselves be the ones making the rounds. Is this something you enjoy doing again?

2023-05-23 16:22:43 +0000 UTCKeep It Up! Video Games! I know it may seem like too general of a thing, but this year, as has already been stated is crazy. Sure there may have been a couple missteps but when you think about the year starting with Dead Space and Resident Evil 4, and now we've got Tears of the Kingdom with Street Fighter 6 next week and later in the year with Final Fantasy 16 and Spiderman 3, 2023 might go down as one of the most packed years of gaming ever! Not even mentioning a dozen of already hype and awesome titles. So Keep It Up video games. I might be broke but I am still fully entertained!

2023-05-23 09:06:28 +0000 UTCKeep it Up: Tears of the Kingdom Thank you, Nintendo, for allowing me to revisit the land of of Hyrule from BOTW without unnecessarily blocking off areas. I love seeing the same spot and noticing the little differences I was so annoyed in God of War Ragnarok every time I tried to revisit areas from the previous game, like the lake in Alfheim.

2023-05-22 23:01:35 +0000 UTCG'day Allies. as someone who didn't like BOTW(durability, traversal and lack of story) an interesting thing that TOTK does, that i didn't realise i would love, is how the ultrahand, sky islands and verticality of the game contribute to traversing the environment. I specifically remember dropping BOTW on the way to the desert after doing the Zora Divine Beast, it took a long time and there were so many roadblocks and little things to do on the way and then i finally got there and had to deal with the whole heat mechanic and i was just DONE. where as in TOTK i can just fly over anything, i can just go to a sky island build a glider and get most of the way there, or at least reach another Tower to unlock the map and shoot me back into the sky. and when i do want to be interrupted and explore around i can just travel on foot. still conflicted on durability, but it is improved. Thanks

2023-05-22 21:59:31 +0000 UTCSort it out Nintendo and put your soundtracks on music streaming services! Square, Sony, Capcom and I’m sure others do and it’s glorious. I just wanna be able to listen Zelda or Mario or Metroid music in the most convenient way possible!

2023-05-22 18:50:03 +0000 UTC[Tears of the Kingdom] Hi Allies, How do you guys balance doing the side quests and exploration with the main story stuff in TotK? I often start a session thinking "Okay, I'm gonna go do X and focus on Y" and almost everytime I find myself getting distracted and end up somewhere completely different than I was initially going for. A couple of times I even wondered into some main story parts without realizing it lol Cheers

2023-05-22 17:26:21 +0000 UTCIf you knew definitively that the Switch 2 Was coming between 8 months and a year from now with a re-release of TotK that runs at 60 FPS and 1080p (and other bells and whistles like bonus shrines and even more physics objects), would you wait for it?

2023-05-22 13:16:54 +0000 UTCHi Allies, In ornithology, there's the notion of a 'spark bird'. This is the term for the species of bird which captured a bird watcher's imagination and pulled them into that field, whether as a hobby or as a profession. My question for the panel: what was your 'spark bird' for gaming? Was it the first game you ever played, or was their a game that came along later that really captured your fascination with video games? As a secondary question, was there a specific game or franchise that led towards pursuing a career in the industry? Thanks for taking my question if you do. Endless love and respect, Goosseey

2023-05-22 09:40:03 +0000 UTCIn ToTK, why is everybody treating Link like some unknown person who have been living under the rock for years. He is the knight of the princess who travel around a lot and everyone know her, and according to the game, he basically 100% botw before as well. Is Nintendo afraid that not many people do these things in botw to know, or are they afraid people that jump straight to totk without playing botw will feel lost? Come on Nintendo, there are other ways to introduce game mechanic in sequel without disregarding your progress in previous game. Minor spoiler, but when you reach Tarrey town, i feel so bumped out when nobody recognize Link. At least the married couple know him or else i would feel gutted

2023-05-22 07:42:00 +0000 UTCHey Allies, Sorry if my question is long but I feel like I need to add context to my question to get a better response from the panel. With the release of Tears of the Kingdom and the universal appraise it's receiving, it brings up a personal dilemma I have with this franchise. I've been gaming for over 35 years and until only a couple years ago did I actually play and beat my first Zelda game, which if there was a gaming bible, seems like it would be considered a gaming sin for almost never playing a Zelda game. It was a link to the past on the SNES classic. A game I liked but didn't love, mainly because there were some gameplay design choices that hadn't aged as well for me for a 30 plus year old game and I had no nostalgia glasses on to over look some of the issues but still recognized that, for the time, the game was truly something else. But that's the only game I've actually played and it seems everytime a new Zelda game comes out it's always considered a masterpiece that blows the industry away. I have watched videos and reviews for these games over the years and they do appeal to my type of style of game and they look like a lot of fun and are probably very good games but I've never had the chance to play them mainly due to not having enough time to play on multiple systems, so I usually stick with my PlayStation. I know that several of the games in series have influenced game design in the industry but I have usually played the games that were influenced by Zelda that came later and never experienced the ground breaking design in the moment of new Zelda releases. I feel like I'm missing out on some of the greatest games ever made and it makes me feel like I'm depriving myself of experiencing that. So my question is this, since the allies have played many games in the franchise, are these games as good as the industry makes them out to be? Like truly greatest of all time? Or are they just very good games that the hype around them tends to blow way out of proportion? Thanks guys, Chris Eyerly
