I voted Ditch this Episode, patron only could work but it's not up to standards. Tech difficulties happens, sometime you just have to let it go. Another way would be to re-record a super short maybe 3 min summary of what you guys talked about with just an overdub from you. Kinda like what you did during your stream, but using that video.

I really don’t think posting it with a heads up would damage EZA’s reputation or deter many people. Maybe I’m being silly but it seems like a lot of people just don’t want non-patrons to have it. Let everyone decide whether they want to watch it.

As a youtuber, I feel your pain. Unfortunately I wouldn't want for new viewers to get a bad impression of the quality that Easy A is known for. With that said, I'd delete and re-record it. Sometimes you get a better take the second time!

I guess just post it but maybe just to patreon like a bonus episode or something.

I think it's fine :) I've watched and listened to enough podcasts from elsewhere who have fallen victim to the same audio goblins. You honestly will get used to it after 5 minutes.

They already said in a previous post that they can't re-shoot it due to scheduling conflicts which is the main reason I want to hear it. Also, I feel like "damage the channel" is a bit dramatic.

Honestly, I think you should not have made this public and put it up for a vote. People want the episode now, But it will be forever on your channel as an almost unwatchable episode. We are trading the short term benefit of a few days saved for the long term damage of bad quality content here. This isn't a live reaction, where we don't want to lose the initial reaction. This is also not great for growing the channel or keeping brand new viewers. And isn't Friendcode a podcast too? What about those walking around town with headphones, trying to listen to this? I highly recommend disregarding this vote and re-shooting it. L&R

Yea, I was thinking "patron only would be cool", though I think it's okay to put it on youtube also, this kind of stuff can happen and our community wouldn't mind in my opinion.

Obviously, post the episode, at least for Patrons. I can understand if front facing for the company, it would be pretty bad look to any potential new viewers finding Easy Allies for the first time, but on Patreon you have much more direct conversations. One thing I do suggest, to avoid this in the future, is something similar to what I do but on a much more professional scale. So I have two versions of the audio for my podcast. THere is the high quality, amazing audio from the at2035's, which is similar to I believe the at2020's you guys are using? Or are they the 35's? Can't tell as they look identical. Anyways, that's our preferred audio quality and it's super crisp and just the way you want things. However, once in a blue moon something happens. Maybe the mixer died, or something happened on the software side of things. There are a zillion issues that can crop up randomly, including the all too obvious "user error" when you don't have someone in the actual recording room - which I don't since everyone that "works" for me is on the show so I have to do testing ahead of time and hope I didn't screw anything up. Anyways, the backup audio is from the direct recording on the camera. However, after having this happen one time, I decided just using the crappy audio from the camera itself is not acceptable. So, now I have an external mic hooked up to the camera. What I would suggest you guys do with your more professional setup, is get a couple "boom" mics hooked up to your equipment and place them just off camera above you guys. Maybe 3 if your set can allow it, and have those mics simply feeding direct audio to the camera recording. That way, should something like this happens again, you will have usable, extremely clean, audio from the boom mics in the footage as a backup. I have learned as a YTer having backup audio solutions is extremely important. Maybe you already have that setup but I don't remember seeing it in your studio tour. I just it's a little bit of an investment to do that right for something that ideally, you never need to use. But I can tell you, as I am sure you know right now, that it is invaluable for the one to 3 times per year you end up really needing it. It helps keep the quality high, even if it's not quite as high as the good mics.

Posting it for Patrons only is a great idea. We're already supporting you and know this is a rare issue. If you were to post it publicly it might put off newcomers. To quote Hulk, "I see this as an absolute win!"

I've heard far worse audio quality, post it up. Like a tin can with string quality. Thankfully I have a good setup to listen to it. No sense in throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

While the audio's not great, it's better than having no episode at all IMO, as it'd be such a shame for your guys' time to be wasted like that. These things happen, and while I love the high quality of EZA videos, and wouldn't want to see a drop long term, I have no problem struggling through an episode with a technical glitch as I know you didn't do it on purpose (or did you?) 😏

I think Patrons only might be a good idea. People who really want to see the episode will still get to, but the general public won't get the wrong first impression if they stumble upon that video

I don't mind the audio, accidents and mistakes happen from time to time. Whether you make it public or not is up to you but i would still like to hear your conversation. Love and Respect :)

Thanks for asking, Damiani. The suggestion for Patron-only makes sense, and I found it perfectly listenable, if not ideal. If you do put it up for general consumption, I'd stick a disclaimer at the beginning.

I have an alternate suggestion. Don't make it public on YouTube. It's bad. Put it up unlisted on patreon for free. Then on the next friendcode, just mention it on there that it is available for free on patreon. Or put a link to the unlisted vid on YouTube. If people want to see it, they can. Don't scrap everything.

Yea, I wouldn't want it to reflect poorly on EZA to those less forgiving. But any prayer of salvaging a discussion from any EZA show when it would otherwise be skipped isn't one I'd pass up on.
