Giantbomb does their GOTY stuff and I don't think people hold grudges according to their opinions. I mean Huber shits on TLG all the time, Ian shits on TLOU all the time. I don't understand why it's different for GOTY talk. These GOTY discussions by Giantbomb is one of my favourite things to listen to. I might scream and give my opinion while listening but by the end I agree that's their conclusion that Giantbomb will come up with. The Last Guardian is EZA's GOTY, how did this happen, how did they come up with this decision, Hearthstone is GT's GOTY ???

Jones, When you talk about the lineup of shows(or general "why aren't there more spoilers" questions) something that's often brought up is the long commute and commitment you ask of people to shoot shows. Has there ever been any discussion about Allies having discussions over VOIP, recording that and slapping b-roll over it, instead of having "production level" shows? Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of understandable reasons why this hasn't happened(work/life separation, being too low quality for the YT channel, lack of interest, ect...), but I'm curious if any discussion about this happened in the background.

Hey Brandon, have you played "the other" big Star Wars mobile game "Force Arena"? I saw a recommendation for it last week (on Extra Creditz) and tried it for a few matches. It is an interesting mix of a 1-vs-1/2-vs-2 MOBA with CCG and Clash-of-Clan-style mechanics. It is not as addicting and easy-to-pick up as Galaxy of Heroes, but those matches I played were entertaining. It would be interesting to get your take on it, in case you already tried it. L&R Thim

Not a question so if you want to skip this that's fine and I'll put it in the Community Showcase. KOTOR 3 was being developed in 2004 and the team had wrote the story, characters, quests, and had designed the environments; basically it was in pre-production. KOTOR 3 was casualty of the financial troubles LucasArts was going through at the time and was one of several games cancelled under Jim Ward, the new president of LucasArts. Concept art of the cancelled project was apparently shown in the 2008 book: Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts. The Old Republic MMO was announced in 2008 and is not a proper sequel as it takes place 300 years after the events of the first two KOTOR games, at least Bioware tried, they did say that it was "like KOTOR KOTOR 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 literally in this one game." You have some history with MMOs. What are some notable events you remember from your time with MMOs over the years? Personally I’ve greatly enjoyed watching the FF14 community struggle with the recently-introduced Ultimate Bahamut battle. Just on the GOTY debates, I do understand your reasoning behind not wanting to show them, but I’m still going to say I want to see them. I loved loved loved the GOTY talks last year, right up until the point where the stream ended, and we got a short video saying “ Hey, The Last Guardian is GOTY, see ya”. It felt so completely and utterly anti-climactic, and I felt like I missed out on the best part of the conversation. It's not that I want to see you guys spill blood, but at the same time who cares if it gets heated. I think you're underestimating your audience if you think we can’t handle that. If someone is getting mad during the talks, then all that means is they’re passionate about what they are saying, and that passion for games, and this industry, is 100% the reason GT/EZA quickly became my favourite outlet in the first place. Lastly, I have to point out the humour in that on last week’s COJ, you were talking about wanting EZA to do a debate style show based around games someday, and then saying you don’t want to show GOTY debates on this episode. Pick a side Jones. :P

Just to clarify my comments about the podcast last week, sorry if it came off as if I was pointing the finger at Kyle, I wasn’t, I realise you all discuss what topics you’re going to talk about before the podcast, as you’ve mentioned it before. Kyle is simply the one who ends up communicating it to us, and that’s why I mentioned him by name. Like I said last week, it’s your guy's decision to talk, or not talk about whatever you want, and I’m never gonna sit here, and demand you talk about certain topics. My feedback is just my own opinion, it doesn’t mean you have to change a thing, it’s for you do with what you please. Again,my main gripe was that I often just don’t understand the hesitancy sometimes, it feels to me like ignoring news stories because they're not “fun”. GT/EZA was/is often praised for being “positive”, but genuine, is always the word that comes to mind for me. This is kinda weird to say, but sometimes I wonder if the expectation of being positive is making you want to shy away from any potentially “negative” conversations, like even GOTY debates of all things. It’s admirable to want to be a place of positivity, and I think EZA and it’s community mostly is, I just also feel that choosing to only cover positive things, can also become less interesting, if that makes sense. P.S. There's no real need to address this, just offering my two cents.

Hey Jones, just a quick one. The updated stream intro, with the 3D stars used for the group stream, isn't used by Allies when they stream from their own place. Streams from the Allies places use the original intro with the 2D stars. Is there any reason why this is the case? Brand uniformity is important and I feel that simple things like this (having the same intro across the board) should be top priorities as they are the simplest things to implement. L&R and I hope you're having a great morning!

Same here. Hope there is maybe a way where they can do/frame deliberations so any savagery is well understood to be a special exception to the process. To me like how Gotys only mean anything if Jones and the rest go at it seriously and with passion as a watcher much of their meaning is also tied to seeing how each game got selected. Without seeing how hard people fought for something its hard to see it not just as another list. Pretty much also why I'm a huge fan of the Giantbomb deliberations.

Hi Jones! I had a weird thought while watching this episode. This show is full of the community raising their concerns about EZA. But what do you do when you have concerns about us? Obviously it's understandable that you might not want to criticize your own community but has there ever been a time you had strong concerns about the fanbase or sections of it? We are, after all, learning and changing together as the community grows- is there anything you've ever considered doing to stop us in our tracks when some of us inevitably do something that's over the line? Are you considering some form of community management beyond comment moderation? What are your thoughts on how we can improve as a community? L&R!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me when somebody suggests something to improve EZA on Cup of Jones, you will reply "we HAVE to do that" or something along those lines, then MAYBE a year later it gets done. IMO, more priority should be given to quality of life improvements versus content creation. EZA just feels TOO garagey at times, and I fear this will cause the viewer base to stagnate more than a lack of programming will.

For my question, I wanted to know your thoughts on the recent "talks" about 20th Century Fox selling the majority of the company to Disney. If this were to go through, what would you like to see come from this deal? What do you expect would happen? Are you the one of many who immediately thought "X-men in the MCU!"...... Hey Jones. I'm still sore over Mass Effect: Andromeda. Mass Effect is my favorite franchise of last generation, and Andromeda was easily my most anticipated game of this year. And yet, even in a year where SO MANY amazing games were released, Mass Effect not only fell short of our collective expectations, but it seems to have single-handedly imploded the franchise, vaporizing any chance of a new installment (or, sadly, a remaster) anytime soon.
