Super Mario Odyssey - Easy Allies Review

Mario's new Odyssey embraces the past while simultaneous forging a bold new path forward to deliver something truly special.

Again, thanks for your patience and waiting for this review. It's up later than we wanted because we couldn't start on the game until release day as we did not receive an advanced copy.

Wish I had a switch to play this!

Nice review, even I can feel how good Super Mario Odessey when I watch this review.

I was expecting that I would be angry at you for giving it 5 stars, but I think you managed to present your case in a great way. Still, for or me who has no history with Nintendo, the fact that it may be the best entry in the franchise is not a factor here, so I personaly wouldn't give it a perfect score regardless, but the review made me understand the reasons behind it. Great review guys! You had my love, but you earned my respect.

Just like the Korok Seeds, the Moons are designed so you don't have to get them all. You just end up with an appropriate amount to finish the game, and if you want more you can always go back postgame and collect more.

For swimming here a tip, When on the surface of water youll stop there as long as you dont stop moving if you want to go under water stop move for 2 sec alot faster and more control then ground pounding under like i saw him doing.

My only complaint would be that the moons lose some of their weight as there are so many. You can spend five minutes scaling a puzzle tower for a moon. Or you can find one in a box. Also like Breath of the Wild, 900+ collect of ANYTHING is too much.

Deserved score for, in my eyes at least, the absolute Greatest Game of All Time.

Damiani with the 5 stars on Odyssey. Guess we know what you're gonna vote for at the GOTY nominations !

I've been loving the game so far. Haven't gotten too far into the game since I'm sharing the game with my girlfriend. From what I played and what i've seen over her shoulder, I feel that Mario magic that I haven't felt since Galaxy 2. After all these years, Nintendo still knows how to make Mario fresh and wonderful.

I really enjoyed Mario but to be honest, I think Zelda: BotW is the better and more "important" game. Mario had some great ideas and is a ton of fun but I can't see it having a big long-term impact on other games. Zelda on the other hand will change our expectations what an open world game should be. So for me Zelda is still the first "must play" game on Switch and my personal GotY.

This game knows you wanna get to the Metro Kingdom, and it makes you earn it.

One of your best written reviews to date Damiani. You pretty much covered everything except for the waggle stuff, which might not have effected you significantly enough to mention. Spoilers were also kept quite light compared to your usual, which must've been a joint effort between Ian and yourself. That last shot leading to the review score was such a great touch too so kudos all around.

Gotta say when I saw Damiani's name I was terrified because I know he's extra tough... but he came through. :D It's a 10/10 and deserves it! CULMINATION!

Yeah really

Again! You guys are the best in the bizz.

Thanks for streaming so much of your playthroughs damiani. It was great to follow along as you discovered some of what the game has to offer, to see it reflected in the review like this. As tough as it was getting shafted with no advance review copy, that was a nice silver lining.

Bradley Spies

Regardless of the game, I'm starting to get annoyed with some of these publishers who refuse to give EZA an advance copy of the game for review.

I'd say BOTW is a 5/5 and Mario a 4.5/5 - having completed both ( only about 60% post game total completion on Mario so far, though ) Mario feels like just a perfectly put together game.. whereas I think Zelda revolutionized open world adventure games and set the bar up way higher than it was.

Really great editing on this one! I loved the audio samples that bridge each section of the review. Additionally, I thought it was strange to put “What’s up Superstar?” to Mario’s hat being shredded and bowser winning, but I understand and respect the challenge of keeping it as spoiler-free as possible while still paying respect and acknowledgement to know the game does right. Fantastic offering here!

Marceline Leiman

As someone who only just got to Metro Kingdom, I'm very grateful the review stuck to footage of the earlier levels. Thanks for looking out!

5/5 Really?

So I guess that means Damiani thinks Odyssey is better than Breath Of The Wild. I still think Zelda presents a more impressive believable world, but I do love both games.

Excellent review, for Damiani giving 5/5 for Odyssey is a dream come true... :)...

good review as always but the opening caveat kinda gave the score away lol
