Assassin's Creed Origins - Review

Comments

There are aspects of this game that are 3/5 and aspects that are 5/5, so I'd settle on 4/5 personally. Since it takes so much from the Witcher at a high concept, it suffers from the same leveling woes (e.g. leveling too quickly for missions around you), but doesn't have as much mission and enemy variety. I unfortunately don't care for many of the aspects that they redesigned (i.e. combat, RPG leveling), but infiltrating restricted areas is better than ever. This wasn't the dramatic change in the series that I had hope for, but it's a good place to build from.

I really love it so far. The scenery is beautiful, the combat feels challenging enough and the story (so far) is pretty good. I really like the backstory you get by doing some of the sidequests. You can really tell the Black Flag team is behind this one.

i like the game, so far the best moment was when a flamingo came walking by while i was swimming at the bottom of a lake looking for treasure.

Honestly, I never enjoyed multiplayer in AC

Great review. I was on the fence with this one but now I might hold off until it goes down in price.

Am I the only one who misses the AC PvP multiplayer?

Agreed, other than no longer being open world or changing the core mechanics to an even greater degree I'm not sure what people were expecting. We're seeing a much more polished game from Ubisoft than we have in a long time for AC. Sometimes that's enough. The skill tree system already existed but the expanded combat with it's new weapon styles is a breath of fresh air, and I'll never turn down an RPG loot system.

Dunno I think it re-invented as much as it could while remaining true to its core. Adding a fully fleshed our RPG system is a pretty big change and combat is completely overhauled. Not sure what else gamers wanted. I’m excited to dive in but sadly am going to wait another couple weeks for my X1X.

Hehe))

With that said I’ll play it eventually

That ending 😂

Most will be up in an hour, but Nintendo hasn't sent us a copy yet. -Bloodworth

When do Mario Odyssey reviews go up?

I was gonna skip this game because it didnt seem innovative enough, but Ive been itching for an open world game for a while, so Im downloading it. If its bad, this will probably be my last AC game.

Having watched Bloodworth’s preview I wasn’t expecting much more than previous iterations. It’s clear at this point that something(one) at Ubisoft is preventing these games from being imaginative. Mario Is on 30 years? And is still cranking out games that feel fresh. No reason for why AC can’t do the same.

Horizon tells an incredible history and presents a very refreshing combat system when it comes to open world games. If you're having doubts between these three I would surely advise you to discover Alloy's tale.

was waiting so i could pick between shadow of war and origins, but i'm just gonna skip both, might finally pick up horizon:zero dawn instead....after mario, wolfenstein and xenoblade

I just preordered it not even an hour before this. Looks like a much better game than AC unity and AC3 (Black Flag and Syndicate being the last good ones I played), and the upgrades/loot system resembling Farcry as much as it does really speaks to me since I really enjoy that franchise too. Looking forward to picking up my copy tomorrow!

I had no idea they had an XbOX O.o
