The voice actor strike section kinda sounded like pro-SAG-AFTRA spin. Although there were slight differences, SAG-AFTRA basically accepted the deal that publishers proposed right when the strike started. They spend 11 months holding out over residuals then folded.

The chip in the clones was introduced in the animation Star Wars Rebels. Is very new to the lore, but is cannon.

I love walking simulators. I let my daughter play Everybody's Gone to the Rapture when she gets upset over school work. It's like a meditative experience for her. I'm fine with just experiencing an interesting story.

The comments about Order 66 (and wishing it was brainwashing) are interesting, but if any of you watched the Clone Wars show (which is super good guys, you really should check it out)... the clones are really really humanized! After watching the entire series, it is so freakin hard to believe Order 66 could be anything, but some chip tha forces them to do it. The Clones and the Jedi go through hell together, it's so shocking/tragic that they all turn in the end . The show illustrates how they aren't brainless machines or war, like the movies make them out to be.

Watching the Podcast I kept thinking: "Wouldn't it be fun if the stakes for a lost bet were to grow a beard." (except for Blood of course) I don't know why but I would find it fascinating...

I think the idea behind the chip was to humanize the Clones since some of them became fan favorites and developed interactions/friendships with Jedi in The Clone Wars and some of the alternate media. They wanted to give an excuse for why these guys would betray the Jedi without question after having added that stuff in, but I felt like it was more fun having that be part of the tragedy of the Clone Troopers - that they are programmed with the sorts of camaraderie and loyalty that make them superior soldiers but in the end they are just weapons to be used by somebody like Palpatine. In this case, I prefer Lucas' rationale since he very much did explain their obedience in Ep 2 already and it feels less contrived.

Correction: Kyle is right and Jones should know better, (in the comics at least) Iron Fist and Luke Cage are partners in Heroes For Hire. So Kyle's assumption that the two of them would know each other and be buds is very justifiable.

Correction or further explanation: The book Battle Royale was named after the WWF/WWE Battle Royale event, it is straight out said in the book. Also the book and the film are the best satire on our school system ever created. I have actually written university papers on that, on how they managed to put all different critiques of our (the Prussian) school system, from Adorno to Bourdieu, into one narrative. It is amazing how scientific that story is, or at least based on science :)

About The Defenders: In the comic books, Luke Cage and Danny Rand are best buddies. But in the series, they meet for the first time during The Defenders. But they will probably become good friends in the show as well and they also teased their company, the Heroes for Hire.

I'd like to point to the Taco Bell commercial as evidence of how Microsoft is treating the Xbox One X. The Xbox "characters" act like the gamers in the commercial shouldn't be there yet ("there" being a backstage...game...place), since the system isn't out. If Microsoft was treating the X as the next iteration of Xbox One, the commercial wouldn't exist, since all of the same games are playable right now on the Xbox One. Realistically, the gamers should have answered, "Uh...yeah. We can be here. We have an Xbox One."

Funny just as I listening this podcast, there's a news about Tencent bought part of Bluehole.

I was actually going to suggest you guys contact Hoeg about the PUBG thing, I LOVE that you guys made that happen already, such a handy sponsor to have! Great advertising for them too! But yeah, I really don't see this whole thing as anything other than Bluehole trying to tie up Epic games in litigation and cost them money, but...I mean let's be real they make money from so many sources via the Unreal engine royalties and their own games that I don't see it really bothering them. It's a tiny bit scummy to make a similar mode, but it's even more scummy to try and do what I consider "Corporate Sabotage" to deter competition when they really have no legal leg to stand on.

Regarding Star Wars clone control chips: First mention of the "inorganic bio-chip" was made in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars televsion series, in the episode "Conspiracy", which aired in March, 2014 for NA audiences. The argument has been made that this retcons statements made in Episode II: Attack of the Clones to be indirect mentions of these implants, given their biological aspect: "We modified their genetic structure to make them less independent than the original host. As a result, they are totally obedient, taking any order without question." -Lama Su, to Obi-Wan Kenobi However, in the official novelization of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith published in May, 2005, no mention is made of any subversive influence on the clone troopers. On the contrary, the order must be delivered via comlink to Commander Cody (shown in the film proper), and the explanation for its effectiveness against the normally precognitive Jedi is that the clones "have no malice, no hatred, not the slightest ill intent that might give warning. They are only following orders." In short, creator's intent (Lucas is noted to have "worked quite closely with the novel authors") suggests the clones betrayed the Jedi because they were ordered to do so, and their training had conditioned them to the point that there was no malice in their action, only obedience. In Disney's present canon, the galaxy-wide heel-turn is explained by the presence of these chips, and is likely meant to explain the low number of clones going rogue during the Clone War timeframe (which happened frequently in the original Expanded Universe). Engine devs making games is a good thing. They may have an idea during creating a game that the engine can't currently do so the they can add it. It benefits others who use the engine if they actually add it to the full release. Think about Last of Us 2 where you can break through a wall but so can your foes.

While Jones is technically correct about Luke Cage and Danny Rand not knowing one another in the Netflix franchise, Bosman is 100% correct that in the Heroes for Hire (the name that The Defenders SHOULD have been in the show) comics, Cage and Rand are absolutely good friends.
