Friend Code - E3 2017 Pre-Show Discussion

Comments

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you for the video overlay. I really appreciate the extra work since for me it makes watching it a lot more fun and a good contrast to the "just talk shows"

Really loving the show and Damiani is smashing the moderator / host role (well done!). Only thing I would like to see is name icons for the beginning and end of the show, but instead of having your twitter handles under your names, have your actual Friend Codes for the Switch and or 3DS. Then if an EZA Tournament comes apparent in the future the community will be ready to join in immediately. Thanks!

I was at FanimeCon doing our EZA Panel with Bosman, Ben, and Brad during the first weekend of the test punch, was also gone most of this past weekend, and when I was back I was editing Friend Code. Just bad luck with the timing.

I listened to the first hour of the show then watched the last 20mins and was surprised to find the overlaid videos. Made me feel like I missed out by only listening for the majority haha. Great episode, although I was rather surprised the only person who tried the Testpunch at all was Bloodworth who had already played the game at the January event and given his impressions. I was actually really looking forward to a discussion of what the group liked and didn't like about the Testpunch so the lack of such was disappointing.

Really loving the show so far, keep up the awesome work :) Thanks!

Thanks for the work with the concomitanted video-animations! Very much appreciated!!! Please keep up the work!<3 <3 <3

For you maybe, I had a ton of fun.

I totally disagree punchout was an excellent game after playing Arms i wouldnt download it if it was free

Kc Wright

I would kill for a 2d metroid on the switch i disdain the prime games

Kc Wright

Arms sucked i played it for about 3hrs total its not fun at all and very clunky imo

I'm gonna try to have constructive criticism : I think you need someone bringing more energy in every podcast, either Bosman, Jones or Huber. I find the trio on this episode pretty unexcited about stuff, and lacking the quick response or intense exchange that makes good podcasts. Also, the fact you're presenting a Nintendo Podcast and the only one who tried Arms during the testpunch is Bloodworth is kind of disappointing. You should at least participate in one of those tests because it's what nintendo fans wanna know : your impressions. Other than that it"s a good podcast (some good analysis from blood) but it really lacks rhythm and energy.

Really great episodes! Love the footage. Getting better and better at EZA!

Please, please, PLEASE Nintendo. Have a Best Buy E3 Demo Event this year. I need to get my hands on Super Mario Odyssey

A friend code without Bosman? What is this travesty?!

I agree with the Allies. ARMS looks like a flashier Punch Out. Fun for an occasional group event; otherwise off my radar.

Great episode. I honestly wasn't feeling the Nintendo hype too much until watching this and realizing how much Nintendo could actually have up their sleeves. I just hope I'm not let down now haha ...and it's a shame that the new info concerning Nintendo's Online Service dropped after this recording, would have loved to hear your thoughts. Personally I think it's a step in a better direction, but we'll see.

Thanks Damiani and team! Sooo hyped for Nintendo's E3!!!!

Is it not on the early access RSS feed?

Even with trips?

I'm not sure why I listen to Friend Code when I do not like Nintendo but still enjoyable.

I really want 2 Metroid games. I could see one, classic 2D coming to 3ds (maybe a dual 3Ds switch e shop release) this holiday. Way Forward made Aliens: Infestation which was basically a solid metroid game...with Aliens. I think after so many years, especially if the game comes from Retro, I will be really disappointed if it's not a really huge AAA metroid (I'd love more Prime). I think if they want to mix it up, I could see a really cool 3rd person action adventure that's a mix of Uncharted and Batman Arkham Asylum. That would be really cool.

I agree with Blood in how Nintendo takes their sweet 'ol time making Mario games. In my eyes the last real 3D Mario game came out in 2010 and was just a sequel of a game that came out in 2007. That's 7-10 years ago at this point. Super Mario 3D World does not count to me because it's more similar to the 2D Mario games than a full 3D game. I could definitely see DLC in Mario.

I loved subspace emissary. It's what made SSB Brawl the best in the franchise. Personally I love all the Smash games equally on a mechanical level (except the N64 version), but Brawl 1UP's the rest due to that mode alone. So I absolutely hope they introduce something like this for Smash for Switch.

Thankyou for showing us what you're discussing now. This show just went from one of the most frustrating to one of my favourites :) Keep it up once the Dear Nintendo magazine returns :D

Avatar Continuum

Surprised you guys didn't mention Pokemon on the Switch. I think that's almost certainly going to be at E3.

Great moderation and editing Damiani. Good stuff.

Thanks for all the hard work Damiani!
