I find the Dear Nintendo section to be no where near as interesting as it could be if someone could just scan the pages being discussed and show them. I can't imagine this being that hard?

When the pre-orders were live for Target and GameStop, their websites could not handle the traffic load and buckled within seconds. While I agree that a set time would be fair for everyone, I don't think the retailers have the infrastructure to handle the traffic. They could have also limited to one per account at the very least. Surely they should be able to detect that.

With the scalpers and their bots ready to attack, it's a really bad idea to set a date and time so far along for preorder. That's why the Best Buy Preorder at 1AM and Amazon preorder at 4AM (this under another listing because the original listing was predated with bots) was the best chance for any normal person to get the SNES Classic. Target and Walmart the next morning illustrate the bot situation.

Well that and most of the allies don't sleep, damiani was able to snag two when I got mine on the first night from Best Buy, Kyle got his from amazon, I'm sure the others did. So I don't think it's unfair, day time is WORSE since more people spamming the site just leads into the site full on crashing so nobody gets ANYTHING.

watch it all and I gotta say I am disappointing in huber saying its unfair that preorder where going on when people are sleeping. another person that maybe has night shifts could say the same thing when preorder are going on in the day. Even if they announced a time some people just can't make it. that just the luck of the draw. The real problem is nintendo Fing up again with demand problems. If people knew how many preorder where going up or if the retailers would do them in batches it would be some much more streamlined, I think the worst is that people just put them up on ebay.

They're on record saying that the fate of 2D metroid is pretty much based on the performance of this game so even though they made a mistake by not putting it on the platform of choice we might still need to buy it. It probably won't go away forever if it doesn't sell but it might go into hibernation for a while again
