I put roughly 15 hours into a copy I was loaned before I gave it back, I ran into various progress hindering bugs in that short amount of time. The only thing that ran decent was the multiplayer, until it just hard crashes right before you're about to extract. If they can manage to patch this game into a somewhat stable state, I might give it a shot again, with a much MUCH lower price tag.

Awesome review, Blood! Wish we could get more reviews. ;) ;) ;) ;) Those are some scary bugs! It obviously needed more time in the oven. EA probably knew this and had them working on bugs as soon as they compiled a master copy.

Played the game for over 60 hours and I have to say i'm beginning to think i've gotten quite lucky with the bugs. I haven't had too many problems at all, little bugs quite regularly but never anything that has taken away the experience of the game. I'd personally give the game a 4*

Rough.... Here's hoping that these proposed patches fix at least some of the glitches. It's bonkers that after 3(?) years of showing developer interviews rather than trailers at events like E3, that it's the technical stuff that is causing so many problems. EA really should have just taken the hit and pushed the release date to the fall, given it extra promotion at E3, and should STOP ANNOUNCING GAMES THREE YEARS IN ADVANCE.

Excellent Review as always Blood. Thorough, concise, and fair. It's unfortunate that Bioware Montreal's first standalone project has so many glaring issues, but if they do get a 2nd go around with a sequel to this game, then I don't expect them to fall hard again. As for Andromeda, I have plenty of games to play till I unwrap my disc, so for now Mass Effect, you may sleep. Hopefully by 4-6 months from now, the plastic surgeons at Bioware Montreal will have fixed you up nicely. Till then, adeu! -Just my assumption here, but I'm betting that they were given a specific timeframe by EA, and fell behind on the schedule. It instead got the KOTOR 2 treatment that Obsidian, a fantastic developer, is often allotted. Art needs to time, so it can learn to breathe. EA just needs to be less of a Doctor, and more of a parent.

That was a piece of art Blood. Excellent review! As a big ME fan, I'm glad I waited. Hopefully they take the time to improve things in the coming months because I definitely want to play it, but it just seems to be in a bad state.

Great review Blood. I don't agree with every point (I think the change in approach to dialog, while good on the whole, leaves some tremendously unsatisfying options that belie the poor writing behind the game) but it was a really well put together look. Well worth the time spent, and key at capturing how maddening this game is by being bad enough to be annoying but good enough to get caught up in. Also, that Drack quote at the end? Savage. Great work.

Having finished the game after 80h, this is a very fair review and pretty much says what I feel about the game. If they had given it another 6 months instead of basically releasing a Early Access Alpha for full price it would have been a good game.

Great review Bloodworth! I'm personally having a blast with Andromeda, absolutely loving the atmosphere, the banter between characters, the dialogue system that allows me to respond in the way I feel and the planets are gorgeous and fun to explore. With yesterdays promises of some much needed patches this game will be stellar, pun intended. Playing on PS4 (non-pro) I have had quite a bit of issue with frame rate drops, input delays, a few of those quirky animations stuffs that you've all seen on twitter. Drack did clone for me once aboard the Tempest which was hilarious. This game receives far more criticism than it deserves. I do agree that the first couple of hours could be better, however once you're past that, quests feel rewarding if you enjoying reading lore and learning about the past of the planets and the characters that inhibit them. I was a little bit surprised with the score given that I thought the tone of the review was more positive, but hey, it's just a score.

Looks like I've made the right decision in holding off on Andromeda for the time being.
