Spoiler Mode - Horizon: Zero Dawn

Hey guys, I like this idea of this, however I don't think this was as productive as it could have been. You guys didn't really finish the same tasks in the game which limited your ability to have a complete discussion. I know many of the side questions and collectables were quite boring, but the main ally quests did have some cool scenes and experiences in them such as the end of the Shadow Carja king quest. Also I am not sure if anyone ever noticed, because no one brought it up, but the holographs looking into the past had more than what the audio said, if you clicked on it in the menu and scrolled down each audio log had more to it, they weren't great but it was an interesting idea. Overall this is a good idea and it would be nice to see more of them.

Thanks for the podcast! But don’t be too sure that everyone has played the game you are talking about. There are plenty of games that sound good, but I know I will never have the time to play them. I will listen to spoiler podcasts of those.

This, right here, is the best thing! I haven't played the game and thought it was just some caveman game with robots but this deep dive into the story has me so interested. I know it will be months till i get around to playing it but this discussion has got me more hyped to play the game than any of the soft ball conversations.

Please please please do more spoiler heavy things like this for all big games multiple allies play! I haven't even played horizon yet but I appreciate this (saving this for later) and think this sort of stuff would be fantastic

Love the idea. Like other's have said in the comments, you guys have been really good with holding back spoilers and a show like this is much needed. I'm very happy that you chose horizon to be the first episode since there is so much to discuss in just the story alone! I'm so so happy you are doing this type of show. It often feels like we talk about these games for months before they come out, but afterward we get a convo or two on a podcast and that's it. A perfect example is Yakuza 0, Huber obviously has a lot to say about that game, but won't dare get into what he loves about it, because spoilers. I totally get not wanting to spoil stuff for people, but sometimes it can feel a little overdone. There is so much tiptoeing around even the smallest things in case it's a spoiler for anyone, that I feel like it can detract from the conversation sometimes. That's why I am so happy you are hopefully going to do more of these, and give us those in-depth conversations and opinions. L&R

Awesome idea! Like seriously guys this is a perfect balance to all your other content. I love how cautious you guys are about spoilers on your regular podcasts, so this in contrast is so refreshing, and honestly most YouTube/Gaming channels do not go in depth anymore (shout out to Spoiled Games with Adam Sessler back at Revision3). I love this kind of in depth analysis of late game/post game stuff. Please keep it up, love and respect allies!!!

Also, any chance you will be going back into older games for this series? Final Fantasy XV? Last Guardian? One of the things I love most are in-depth discussions about video game story and lore, and this is one thing I always felt the Easy Allies were lacking.

Love the idea of the show, it could be a monthly thing like EZAnime where people (or patreons) could vote on which game they would like discussed. I think it should focus mainly on plot (or gameplay sections that really feed into the narrative of the game), that way it doesn't exclude talking about the game on shows like frametrap

So weird, I am currently near the end of the game and loving it and this last few days I was thinking "Man, I would really love to hear the allies discuss the story". I guess dreams do come true :p

I understand Huber not wanting to call cauldrons secrets, in videogames the word secrets has a history and makes me think of something like paintball mode in GoldenEye. Perhaps call it "Unexpected Joy" or something else might be clearer.

I really like the definition of segments for the discussion, and the exclusion of any conversations you can have on your other podcasts. as someone with no intention of playing this game, I loved hearing your takes on the whole picture, and am looking forward to future episodes of this centered around games I have played. Just finished listening. Great podcast, I love spoilercasts. Definitely do more of these. And I like the idea of a revolving cast (no designated moderator or guests). I'd just like to reiterate that I never played Horizon and enjoyed listening to this, and I think you'll find the same for other videos you do, such as Brandon Plays Pokemon. I definitely would love to see Zelda for the next Spoiler Mode. Also, I like the idea of people who haven't spoken about a particular game to be on as a guest. For example, I've heard Damiani speak a lot about Zelda BotW, so I'd definitely like the others to be on a spoilercast as a priority over Damiani (not to say Damiani shouldn't be on it as well, just not as a priority as I've already heard his thoughts on streams and whatnot). Oh also, an audio only version would be appreciated.

Also, just wanted to say viceversa on the discretion thing, If you don't feel like something is a spoiler or should be reserved for Spoiler Mode then just say it and keep the conversation going. Zelda has me on edge, I won't have a switch until the end of the year so I have to play on Wii U but I still won't have the game for over a month... Also, GameXplain and Others just don't care and use Zero discretion WHATSOEVER. I have learned the hard way and will try even harder next time there is a game like BotW to be media blackout. It's just what does one do if they won't even have said game until THREE MONTHS LATER.

I was just going to say that up until The Last Guardian spoiler talk on Frame Trap I always felt like I'm in a safe place in regards to spoilers when watching GT/EZA. I don't want to skip segments of a podcast or put an episode of Huber Syndrome on standby because it's filled with spoilers (also maybe this will help avoid spoiling things by accident (Huber). Spoiler mode is a perfect way to bring it all together into one place. I absolutely don't mind clicking watch later on an episode of Spoiler Mode, it's kind of the point with a show like this as your never going to be caught up with everything. Also, I would feel really comfortable if you guys would simply use your own discretion and avoid anything that you yourself would consider a spoiler on anything outside of Spoiler Mode. If you think a special item or mechanic in BREATH OF THE WILD being spoiled before you even started playing the game would upset you then avoid it. something as simple as seeing the total number of *seeds in a thread title on gaf was a spoiler to me because from what I have gathered the game doesn't tell you (for a reason).

YES! Guys, please use Spoiler Mode for all Spoiler Talk. Things like The Last Guardian Spoiler Talk from Frame Trap last year right down to the Logan Spoiler Talk in Huber Syndrome, Please take all of the Spoiler sessions out of you shows and podcasts and save it for Spoiler Mode. If i have not seen or played something from Spoiler Mode then I will happily click watch later and come back to it as soon as i caught up. I'll even make a point of getting caught with whatever you guys are talking about on Spoiler Mode.

Loved the intro haha. By the way, Kyle mentioned that this is a podcast "for people who have only finished a particular game". I'm looking forward to listening to this, and I don't intend on ever playing Horizon. This is because I don't have a PS4 (and don't plan on getting one, I have enough games to play as is), but I'm still very interested in how the game plays out.

I LOVE spoiler casts. Seems like all most outlets do is talk about games pre release, and then dance around content in the week after launch. I crave to hear my favorite personalities talk with no risk of spoiling anything. If you havent beat it, just dont watch! Easy! Yakuza, Nier, Persona (eventually), so much potential!

Can't wait to watch it. Horizon is not only my favorite game of the year but is also for the generation, but somehow I felt that the Allies never really gave it a chance, because a lot of videos they were complaining or dissing the game.

I didn't finish the game yet, but generally I love these kind of series. It will be some time until I unwrap my copy of Horizon, but I'm looking forward to see the show

Please do this for Zelda and Persona at some point!

Obviously, some people won't watch it because of spoilers, but they may come back to it later after they've finished a game. And it's amazing for those who have finished. I haven't started Horizon yet (and it may be some time before I do), but I love the idea for this kind of show. I know I can't be alone in saying I'd love one for Breath of the Wild. That being said, I may watch this anyway! Because I'm not entirely sure when or if I'll get around to Horizon.

I think it's very kind of you to worry about excluding parts of your audience with a video like this, that being said, I still think it's absolutely worth while. Personally I love these videos that dive into spoiler territory, especially when it's for a game I've finished, like Horizon. I even enjoy these talks for games that I have no intention of playing, like Zelda, as it gives me a loose feel for the game that I otherwise wouldn't have. There will always be some people caught in the middle, though, (probably most people) where they plan on playing the game eventually and therefore don't want the spoilers. I don't want to disregard these people, but I don't think their choices should stop a show/talk like this from happening, ESPECIALLY if you all had fun doing it. (This is all being said not having seen the video though because of the audio issue so who knows am I right?)

Perhaps spoiler mode should start with a spoiler free discussion of game at first then begin with a full spoiler mode for the rest so at least we can all hear the allies general thoughts rather than skipping the video entirely? Great idea by the way

YES SPOILER TALKSSS! I have to say, the way EZA tiptoes around spoilers is really frustrating sometimes. It often feels like EZA can't even do their jobs (zelda being the worst offender by far, don't even talk about it at all if the existence of rupees is considered spoilers) it's become very obnoxious (just my opinion), so having a spoiler talk makes all the difference for me. I can't wait to finish Horizon and watch this. Thank you Kyle and Allies

Also, I don't think you should worry about being exclusionary. Treat this as a series for people to review whenever they want. This would be a great thing to have available when GOTY talk starts rolling around, to get a feel for the games you skipped completely as well as those you completed.

I have 2 more main quest missions to complete so I'l watch it as soon as I beat the story. But just wanted to say this is a fantastic idea to focus on ONE game and discuss it super in-depth and get into the nitty gritty of it. I know Frame Trap is similar but not everybody in the panel has played the games they bring up. So yea I'd love for this to be a thing going forward! - L&R

Check the audio, it sounds horrible on my smartphone (at first, I believed it was an audio effect just for the opening, but the whole video has audio issues)... :(. PS: Nice new show... :)... Another one to the watchlist with all the rest of the content you produce... :)

This is a good idea because this way you have someplace to talk unleashed about a game, instead of spoiling it in a frame trap. Ill just add it on my "spoiler playlist" and watch it later.
